I have a 3 bed apartment near golf and beaches/mountains in South-East Spain where temps are on average 10°C higher than central England. Low cost airlines return flights can cost under £40 if you pick the cheaper ones (single flights can be just £10).

If anyone is able to get away for some sun anytime during 12 March to 12 April 2011 then the price per week for the apartment for fiso members would just be £195 (normal low rate is £245). If interested or would like further info send me a PM or email.

I also have availability from 21 April. Contact me for details.

Can this be opened up to parents and friends of Fiso members?

Sure. People known to a fiso member would be fine.

Anyone interested between now and early April do let me know - special late discount price available to attract someone.

few quick questions:

What day of the week does the week rental start?
Do you rent for weekends?
What is the closest airport and how far a drive is the apartment from there?

Thanks

I seem to remember you have a website for your apartment. Can you nudge me in the right direction, please?

And that member was me............... :D

So after a week in Spain thought I would write a few comments on Admin's place in case anyone is thinking of renting it out.

It's situated in the South-East of Spain about an hour's drive from Alicante airport (Murcia is even closer). The apartment itself is lovely - located within a golf resort. If anyone is looking for a quiet break, then I recommend this place. The resort is not very populated (by buildings or people) and is very peaceful away from any main roads. There are currently 2 swimming pools and sunbathing areas on site, with the nearest beach being about a 20 minute drive away.

The apartment is fully furnished and has air-conditioning in all of the rooms. There's also a washing machine so you don't need to worry about taking one or two week's worth of clean clothes. It's self-catering and there is a great gas BBQ where we cooked on a couple of the evenings but the nearest town is only about 20 minutes away so there are plenty of places to eat out there as well.

Unlike some of the Canary islands or the Costa Del Sol, there did not seem to be an abundance of English people about - in fact, on the beach we visited a couple of times, we only heard English being spoken once - the rest of the time was Spanish and a little Dutch. However there were a number of people at the golf resort who were English but I only realised this as I saw people buying English newspapers from across the road at the supermarket.

As Admin has lived in the apartment previously there were loads of things in there that helped make the holiday more enjoyable, such as a big cool box that we loaded with food and drinks to take to the beach; a huge book collection, so no need to take any abroad and digital TV so I could watch the Community Shield without having to find a local bar!

The weather was great (mid 30s) and we were able to sunbathe until 8pm on most evenings as it was still fairly hot. The best part was that there was a fantastic breeze that ran through the complex so it kept us cool and allowed us to spend a bit more time in the sun without "melting". There is a supermarket, restaurant and bar on site but we preferred to get out of the resort and explore the little towns around. As the complex is so close to the sea, there are plenty of restaurants serving excellent fish, seafood and paella - however they do cater for non-fish liking people as well and we saw plenty of restaurants with steak, chicken, pasta, pizza etc.

Even though it was just Mrs Stuboy and myself, everywhere we went seemed to be kid friendly and there were a number of families staying in the complex.

I'd highly recommend the apartment and location - the other nice touch is Admin supplies you with a 15 page booklet with suggestions and recommendations and instructions on where everything is in the apartment. With that we were able to drive from the airport, find places to eat, beaches to visit etc.

Now hopefully this recommendation will get me a reduction in price for next year

Cheers stuboy and glad you enjoyed the holiday. The owners where you stayed are pretty much Spanish, English/Irish and Scandinavian (mainly Norwegian) in fairly equal proportions so a good mix of nationalities rather than just British. I'm sure I can stretch to a further discount for your next booking.

For anyone interested there is availability for this October half-term and Easter next year. PM me for more details on the large apartment. Rental discounts still available for fiso members.

A few things to update about the apartment:

1. Wireless internet (2mb) is now installed in the apartment.
2. A British family have opened another bar/restaurant on the resort to compete with the Spanish owned one. They have large TV screens with English Premier League football shown - I may well go down there this afternoon to watch the Liv v MU match today (although going swimming in the sea is pretty tempting too).
3. There is an outdoor 'activity area' set up for the free exclusive use of people staying on our section of the resort which includes ping pong tables, badminton net, gym/fitness equipment and boules area along with a wooden clubhouse (with wifi) where the bats/balls/other games etc are stored. There already is a children's play area near our apartment block.

Rental prices will be going up for 2012 but I will still offer a 30% discount to fiso members.

Hi All

I only got home last night, and as someone that loves his golf i can highly recommend admin's apartment and its location. For golf just alone the course is very challenging and superb value for a very new course.

the apartment is a very comfortable size, with a balcony that’s very spacious, & gets the sun from the time it arises till 6pm and that’s in October. the view and noise at night-times have the same feeling "HEAVEN" & not too bad in the very early hours of the morning either.

i only had time to visit the pool once and its the ideal place to sit and soak up the sun then cool down with a quick dip, in a clean pool. in fact the whole resort is kept clean and tidy by the dedicated staff on the resort.

i also got the chance to visit the local port which has a few beaches (little coves, not over crowded) and they are spotless. the sea is warm, and relaxing and that’s coming from someone that can never remember going further than just a paddle in the past 40 odd years.

in the port there are many shops (especially the supa dupa ice cream shop) a must if you like different flavours, and if your sitting outside one of the many restaurants at the right time in the evening you might get to see a wonderful sight. sitting there having a cig between starters and main course the moon appeared in slow motion (well it felt like slow motion) above the mountains in the distance.

They say to leave the best bit till last so scroll down

THE BEST THING IF YOU DECIDE TO VISIT YOU CAN HAVE YOUR VERY OWN CHAUFFER, OK YOU NEED TO RENT THE CAR OF YOUR CHOICE, CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUEL AND FIND A LITTLE SPACE IN THE APARTMENT FOR YOUR DRIVER ………… (little old me and my golf clubs) which equals the best deal at super value for a great break
YOU CAN’T HELP A MAN FOR TRYING, I WILL BE RE-VISITING 1 DAY I HOPE

'Bumped' for those looking to book later this year (e.g. Easter, Summer). Discounted prices vary from £245 to £345 per week (low to high season) - the apartment is advertised elsewhere at £375 to £530 per week so this is a genuine discount. See comments above from those that have stayed there already. As per above, it is a 3 bedroom apartment with huge terrace on an exclusive location and you can have a mixture of superking or single beds.

If interested send me a PM (Private Message) or email or post here.
