Here's a new competition for you all to get your teeth into from next week called

HIGHEST SCORE WINS

Schedule
Tournament runs over 3 weeks
Week 1 = Irish Open + Greenbrier Classic
Week 2 = Bridgestone Invitational
Week 3 = PGA Championship

Selection
Select a TEAM NAME, then
Pick 10 players - 5 from the PGA Tour + 5 from the European Tour
The first 4 players in your list must remain fixed for the duration of the competition (2 from each tour)
with up to 6 changes allowed between tournaments between the remaining players

Scoring
Each players weekly score is the total amount of shots taken during the tournament
i.e. You pick Luke Donald and he has rounds of 70 + 68 + 72 + 70, his total score would be 280

You only score the points based on the total number of shots taken,
therefore any player who withdraws, gets disqualified or MISSES THE CUT only scores the points accumulated.
Any player selected who is not playing that week will score zero points

The winner is the player with the HIGHEST cumulative score after the PGA championship

In the event of a tie, the earliest initial team entry will win

Prizes
Padmole will be putting up prizes for 1st (£10 bet) and 2nd (£5 bet) as well as a special prize for the person who's score is closest to 7000

Hmmm, just thinking if it would be the done thing to enter your own contest?

This isnt NCG - Of course you can enter......as long as it is before the start and not editted ;0)

Trying to work format out - Is it right that you need to find players in the fixed category committed to playing all the events???

That would help but you may need to focus more on the last two events (Bridgestone and PGA) rather than the first two as getting two zero weeks will be worse than one

It's all a matter of choice, if you select FIXED players who are not playing one of the weeks they will get zero points but if you manage to find people who are playing all three weeks who can also make the cut in all three weeks then I think you will be onto a winner.

Personally, I think the FIXED players are going to be the key to getting a good score.

Bridgestone is going to be the hardest one to work out as they will not officially name the field until after the comp starts (the following monday) but you should be able to work out the PGA field

That's the idea but as it's over a 3 week period you also need to consider that if one of your selections does not play (i.e. the fixed ones) then they will score zero points for that week, whereas even the winner or a missed cut that week will score more than your non playing selection
