hi, new member here

i'm having a headache deciding what to do with this team - currently around 1800place with 10 transfers remaining + 0.5m spare

my big concerns are rooney, jones and larsson also. Should i stick or twist. Any obvious changes?

Seriously tempted to take Rooney out, for Ba as Newcastles upcoming fixtures look favourable. Larsson for either Sessegnon or Valencia.

Jones, don't really know who is a solid bet. Maybe enrique as liverpool still in the cup

Any thoughts? I'm clear at the top of my work league by 90 points, 2nd place has 17 transfers remaining.

With only 10 transfers remaining you're best to leave Rooney in and try to hug the tortoise now.
Leave Larsson as he is still in the cup with a replay, Sess is a better option but a wasted tinker when low on transfers. Valencia is a luxury that I'd promote but only with 14+ transfers.
Jones to a cup player is vital so I'd say Enrique or Vermaelen, I'd personally plump for the latter.

Hold fire. Your opponent's advantage over you is his transfer tally so don't make it worse - let him burn a few taking risks while you stick with your solid team.

EDIT - seen Chuck says similar. He has a point about Jones but, if selling him, I'd consider fund raising rather than necessarily going for his slight upgrades. Few decent options though.

What they said above....10 transfers isn't a lot.

Larsson's points tally is very similar to Sessegnon's so that's a leave.

Demba Ba mightn't come back firing on all cylinders so that's a leave.

Jones is a conundrum, and nobody seems to know when he is back...big points scorer until recently, I might be tempted with Enrique.

I'd be a little worried that I haven't got Aguerro in there, but it still boils down to the fact that you need to sit tight right at the moment. If he scores well tonight and your opponent closes the gap, you might have to bring him in.

Thanks for your advice! well, against my better judgement and in some haste i have made 2 transfers. Work is really slow today and i have way too much time to think about this!

agreed on larsson, no point changing for changing sake

Jones - i have dropped and replaced with enrique. Extra fixture for liverpool + man utd defence without Vidic is weak. Jones picked up most of his points in midfield when Vidic was fit at the back keeping clean sheets. In 2 months Jones has picked up just 18 points for me.

rooney > aguero - this one i really was not sure about, but i think it's the right choice. i noted V arsenal, after Man U scored Rooney dropped to midfield to make up the numbers. if this continues as i think it might as man u are extremely weak in this area Rooney is likely not to score as much and might explain why he has not scored regularly for a while now. Aguero, i know is on a lean run, but constantly looks dangerous and must be due a goal soon.

will keep this team til march then review.

can i ask when does everyone start using all these saved transfers? for cup final day? or last 2 weeks of the season?

been in 2 minds but think trying to make points up now rather than sit tight and take punts closer to the end of the season is a little dangerous? Controversial?

and now i just realised i should have probably gone with Baines, instead of Enrique! Everton have some decent fixtures coming up after tonight. I should really stay strong...

I was top of the two foot league for a long time last season.

At this stage I had 12 transfers, but my team looked good. All of a sudden players started getting injured or dropped and I used a shedload just to keep 11 playing each week. Then in March, all of the chasing pack lumped on City blocks, and I had no transfers left to protect myself.

If you remember, City kept about 500 cleans sheets in the last 6 weeks of the season.

Needless to say, I didn't win the league.

After saying that, I've had teams at this stage with 20+ transfers left, and I've ended up swapping players just for the sake of it.

It's a fine line.......but 8 left at the moment is a bit thin IMO.
