Hard Elvis' 'The Elite Of The Elite'. Can you cut it?

Hard Elvis productions are proud to bring you a new superleague, starting in season 2007-08. The intention with this league is to separate the wheat from the chaff, the boys from the men, the monkeys from the organ grinders. You might have had a good season in 06-07, but are you a flash in the pan? Can you produce the goods two seasons on the trot?

There are two criteria you must meet to get a 'ticket' for entry to this:-

- you must be a current member of The Elite; and
- you must finish this season in the top 2% of managers.

At present, the top 2% of managers would be people who finished in the top 25,000 or so. This equates to around position 100 or so in The Elite as it stands just now.

Let us know if you'd be interested in joining this league and we'll co-admin it. Throughout the course of the season we'll provide commentary on the movers and shakers, as well as (possibly) some little side games.

Spencer my original thinking was top 2% but thought there are decent players out there who have not had a great season so did not want to exclude them. Not everyone will sign up within the top 5% anyway.

Not so - I am calling his bluff. BTW, he also has Mickelson at 10/1 for the masters, to go with all the cricket bets he was won loads on in recent months. I know he doesn't have a team because he doesn't even know that FPL is strictly 1 team only :lol:

I'm in the top 2% but I'd agree with others that you'll just replicate the Fiso League.

What about making it pay-to-enter and have prize money?

Other than BarmyBoy I know of at least two FISOers that have attempted to enter more than one team... you know who you are M and B!!! :wink:

I was actually thinking that the top 5% was a bit much as I scrolled through The Elite league list to see the 62,000 cut-off. I think it's hard to justify a league for elite players if they've only finished in the top 160 of The Elite this year.

If you agree Elvis I'll change the cut-off to the top 2%, then we're really separating the wheat from the chaff.

Dixie's idea of a pay-to-play league is a good one.....if I could be arsed. I really can't be bothered with the admin of it all and, whilst I'd be happy to be a league admin and do some write-ups, organising payments and all that would be a pain in the arse (especially with a new and improved FPL Ryder Cup to come next season 8-)

I would definetly be up for this, but as said by some above, I will need to improve...have fallen to 20,000 overall and now a sad 89th in the Elite.

The pay idea is good too, if we can figure a way of doing it. With people living in different countries etc this can become tricky...so if anyone has any ideas please speak! Paypal anyone?

Im up for playing for a nominal sum too but i agree it could be a pain in the bahooky administering it.

You have to have a cut off for accepting cash then after that date set up the league with only those who have paid being entered. There is no ther way.

I play in the Magic Circle league this year aswell as the Magic Circle Cash league for those who paid on time!

Nope, it's only conditional on these two requirements. I'd imagine that the ones that are decent are the ones that would be the most vociferous anyway (obviously that wouldn't be me though :wink:

).
