Not going to win any leagues this year, so going to enjoy the second half of the season, and now considering a stick and forget about it Fulham - Swansea semi-block defensive unit.

Warnock and/or Simpson and/or McAuley and/or Evans  Kelly and Rangel

Not confirmed.

Guess Ryan Taylor's going to have to go... Can't be having any more of these 5min cameos.

Prob bring in Wes Brown or Senderos and free up some funds for elsewhere.

Been happy with my team until yesterday so playing the WC.

So far:

Enrique  OShea (just never rated Wes Brown)
Cabaye  Ben Arfa
Dyer  Dempsey
Sturridge  Morison (might change this to Keane)

1.3m in the bank

Seriously thinking about selling Walters, had him since the start. He might even lose penalties now.

I got Sturridge a few weeks ago and he's done nothing, but will keep him at least until i WC in week 24. Baines is gone with the wildcard, fixtures won't be great and looks like that lump Gibson and Donovan have taken a lot of the dead balls off him. Baines has been disappointing, though a lot of hard luck stories for his owners in recent weeks.

I was planning to WC, but now not so sure and might save it for next week.

The problem is I can't see any teams I really want to load up on that I haven't already got most of what I want.

Dempsey I can put in for Bale after the Wigan game next GW (tho Fulham also have a tough game in 24)

I have 2 Man City and can get an extra 1 in for their easy run.

The only other teams I see with fixtures I like over the next 5-6 GWs are QPR and Wigan, and to a lesser extent Stoke, Wolves and Fulham - none of those inspire me with confidence to get any more than maybe 1 speculative cheapie in from.

Wolves are probably no-go due to no standout points scorer and their midfield bite removed with Henry suspended and Frimpong injured

QPR have new manager syndrome working for them but who do you pick?

Wigan after the Spurs game have some lovely fixtures but I just don't trust them to turn up on any given week and Moses, well, he's Moses...

Fulham maybe hitting form but the story of their season is inconsistency. Dempsey is worth considering but he'd have to replace Bale or Silva in my line-up and for that price I want someone who is reliably getting 5+ points every week not just one massive haul and a bunch of 2s

Stoke are probably the strongest, but after Man Utd and around home games vs Norwich and Swansea they have Fulham (could be hot that week), Chelsea (faltering but still class) and Sunderland (MON factor)

Sunderland looking good but I already have 2 and not sure they're looking good enough to take 3 with some tricky (but not impossible) fixtures.

Man Utd and Spurs have to be considered 1 block for fixtures imo as ther harder games between GW24 and GW27 mean you won't want a team full of players from those two. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool just looking awful recently.

So, maybe no WC this week. Will wait until after today's games and see if there's any real standouts from there.

FS Record: FPL a work in progress, got over 2,000 pts last season, usually do a bit better in FISO IKTS league 2nd, 8th, 15th last 3yrs.
Gerrard  Dempsey. Determined to be ruthless with underperformers in back end of season, great player in a poor team and it's just not happening for them. Dempsey is great value in comparison with fixtures to boot.

All my defensive eggs in a Swansea and Fulham basket.

And a 4 midfielder-with-nice-home-game captaincy dilemma.

8-)

Robin. Stop and think. Not saying you are doing the right or wrong thing. Both these teams have failed to keep a cleanie in 6. What makes you think they can improve on this record???

As for Dempsey, will you make him captain when you have Bale, RVP, Aguero (with that amazing run of fixtures coming up) and also the mis-firing Sturridge & Walters? You may but guarantee you it won't be easy. You will dwell, change your mind, try to convince yourself you are right.

That's my piece.

I usually pick my captain early and just leave it, gone are the days of dwelling and what ifs. For me anyway.

That's my piece. Thanks for showing you care but just give me my effing Valium!

playing the wildcard, shipped out the underperformers (i'm looking at you, baines) and will hopefully pick up a couple of price rises in the process.

---------------------------Vorm--Krul------------------------- ------------------Vorm--Krul-----------------------
Simpson--Baines--Evans--Kompany--Assou-Ekotto- --Simpson--Senderos--Evans--Kompany--Brown--
-----Walters---Bale---Sessegnon---Silva---Allen----- --Dempsey---Bale--Sessegnon---Silva---Ben Arfa--
---------Sturridge----Van Persie--Adebayor----------- ---------Zamora----Van Persie----Aguero----------

the big question for me was Valencia/Dempsey... but after Valencia got pushed back to RB yesterday (or was it LB...) I think I've gone with the right one for now. can always switch it round.

spent a long time trying to shoehorn both of them in but after seeing Arseshavin's post in Ironfist's RMT thread about having to bench either a mid or a str each week thought i'd leave it. much happier benching Ben Arfa than Sessegnon which is what the decision would boil down to.

Good WC I like it (Dempsey AND Zamora Fulham overkill?), but Valencia wasn't pushed to RB yesterday. Where did you get that idea?

Someone mentioned it on the forum - once Nani & Phil Jones came off?

Now you mention it my team is a tad fulham-heavy.

hmmmm

WC'ed to a probably pretty generic team:

Lindegaard, Sorensen
Brown, Kelly/Senderos, Simpson/Santon, Kompany, Caulker
Silva, Bale, Valencia, Sessegnon, Dempsey
RVP, Aguero, Welbeck

Not too sure about the underlined players above but will probably go for the cheaper alternatives to allow Welbeck > Ba/??? later. Tempted by Ben Arfa too but no idea who to drop.

Alan Green said he went to RB once Jones & Nani had gone off (subbing off the already subbed on Rafael in the process).

"Silva, Bale, Valencia, Sessegnon, Dempsey" is like the most generic midfield I have seen in teams right now.
