If you're talking about The Killing and Borgen, they were on BBC Four. Borgen is still running, a kind of Danish West Wing. I'm enjoying it, although it's not as good as The Killing.

Think Borgen is terrific, real eye opener to how other European countries have similar issues to us and how they reflect this in there TV output, enjoyed the Killing (not US version gave up before end)

Just watched the first of 4 episodes of Putin, Russia and the West on BBC iPlayer, brilliant stuff (though I know roughly the history).

I watched the first one last night and it was excellent. The Khordkhovsy (sp) Putin face off was like something out of a film.

You wouldn't mess with Vladdy P, that's all I'm saying.

Indeed, though things are looking a bit rocky for him at the moment, but having said that you can't help but to think that if it is not Putin, there is another KGB type waiting in the wings.

One thing that struck me though - granted, there is state corruption from top to bottom, but aren't the oligarchs essentially as bad as our own CEO that we hate here, the '1%'? If Putin's motives weren't so obviously near-dictatorship, I'm inclined to agree with him.

For comedy at the moment Modern Family just seems to get better and better and 30 Rock has just started the new season in the States and is as consistently funny as ever.

I have just watched the first season of Luther about a London based detective with some psychological issues. There are one or 2 back stories that I wasn't convinced about but it was quite gripping for the most part. Wasn't entirely sure about it after each episode but found myself having to watch the next one right away. Idris Elba just won the Golden Globe for television actor for his portrayal of John Luther and this is likely to be on the back of season 2 (season one was only 6 episodes and season 2 only 4 episodes) so will likely try and watch that as well.

Anyone else watch this and have any opinions on it?

Quite liked Series 1 but never got round to watching Series 2. He is very good in it but it didn't always suspend my disbelief....

Just finished watching all 7 seasons of The Shield.

It might be mentioned elsewhere to be honest but thought I'd bump this thread to say how thoroughly enjoyable it was!

Glad to see Spartacus back of telly as well!

Watched the first episode of Grimm on Watch last week, it was good rather than great but I'm gonna stick with it for a little while at least as I like the concept (which does have a bit of 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' vibe to it which may or may not be a good thing depending on your opinion of that particular show).

Also noticed that J. J. Abrams 'Alcatraz' is debuting on Watch next month so definitely going to catch that when it gets started...

First 30 minutes of Luck on Sky Atlantic is pretty good apart from the fact that it's been 10 minutes of show and 20 minutes of ads.

Is Sky Atlantic always like this?

yeah I found Grimm a bit 'meh' will see how it goes. spent most of it thinking could they not get brandon routh so got a lookalike in.

Alcatraz looks promising.

Having to watch without the benefit of Virgin+ so might have been a little harsh.

Luck is good though.

To be honest I don't watch anything like this 'live' so end up just fast forwarding through the ad breaks, but typically it's seems to me that we get about 40 minutes of material from a show that takes up a one hour time slot on Sky Atlantic...

A quick reminder that the supposedly excellent 'Homeland' is getting started on Channel 4 @ 9:30pm tomorrow...

There's also an amendment to that reminder as it's getting started @ 9:30pm rather than 9pm...

Must be 10:30 on +1 so still time (I've Sky+ed it).

There's a show that's premiered here recently called "Finder" that's quickly become one of my favorites. I don't know whether it will survive or not, and it may not be available everywhere, but it IS one of the first new shows since Walking Dead that I've really enjoyed (btw, Walking Dead's latest "season" got off to a great start).

If you've ever seen "Bones", and like that type of Dramedy, you might enjoy Finder.

There are so many shows I've watched which have got cancelled after one season and/or before the writers are able to conclude things. It is incredibly frustrating.

I've got Grimm to watch (with the kids) and loving the renewed Walking Dead as well as True Blood. Anyone caught any of The Almighty Johnsons? I can't decide if it's actually any good or if I just want it to be good as yet.

Are they going to be 3 series ahead of terrestrial

Only 1-3 have been on Channel 4 haven't they??? and this will be Series 6 - or am I getting it wrong?

I've got part of Series 4 on Sky+ (the one with John Lithgow I think) and have been putting off watching it until there is some form of repeat so I can be sure of being able to Sky+ the end of the series! Don't want to watch 5 til I've watched 4.

Yes, I'm assuming it's S6 (as 5 has already been on FX).

Watched the first episode of The Killing tonight… good start (especially for a first episode).

Also watched the first episode of Homeland again, a good start and I enjoyed it. Something nagging at me that its going to be a bit weak. Cant put my finger on it, but it had all the ingredients that make me think it should be good though.
