Basically, I am starting work on a project for a Sports comic. I have found a company willing to publish a bumper summer special for 2011 with a view to producing a 'Christmas' Annual. The work would initially be unpaid but you would receive royalties from any sales.

The long term hope is to produce a weekly 'online' update with hard copy bumper Summer specials & Christmas Annuals.

The aim is to put together 5-8 stories for each 'issue' so there would be quite a bit of work, I'd be looking to get the initial comic published around the start of April in time for the School Easter holidays meaning there is 4 months to work on this.

I have the bare bones of several stories ready to roll & the next step is to marry the stories with the artwork (My graphic capability is just above zero, hence the need to look for help).

If your interested or know somebody (friend/relative) who may be interested please either pm me or post on this thread.

I think DixieDean is in this line of work.

Sounds promising, any chances of telling us some outlines of the stories?

Not sure if this is my bag... I'm presuming you need someone that has a 'Comic' style of illustration?

I'm not really skilled in that but know a mate that enjoys that style of illustration.

He works long hours for a west-end agency but I would be happy to ask if he might be interested AK - He has drawn comic style stuff just for fun so it may well be right up his street.

PM me and we could maybe chat on the phone plus... I'm meeting him next week for a xmas drink and could bring up the subject then.

As I said... he's a busy guy but he might be interested but I can't promise mate.

I'll be sending out a mail re a new quiz in london starting this week (@ the lyttleton arms, opposite mornington crescent tube, camden, sunday evening in case anyone's interested) and have a couple of comic/graphic artists on my list - will be sure to pass this on tomorrow

yep, as mentioned above - bit different from your run of mill graphics - will notify all scribble freaks i know and see if they want their name thrown into the hat

Check it out and do a post in the forum saying what you want. Some would want money but there enough out their to do stuff for free just to get noticed and get there art out there.

no joy from this end. was awaiting on a student as a last resort but he was too lazy, or had a protest to go to

btw, did you know there are plenty of online cartoon creators? some are fairly flexible, but dunno if you need complete control or not over your entire sketch
