This is probably the hardest decision I have, when I plan to WC, but the talk seems to be much more on outfield players.

I've had Vorm and Krul since the beginning but there's a certain Mignolet, who plays for the improving Sunderland under Martin O'Neil.

As things stand, I'm stuck between Vorm, Krul and Mignolet and even Lindergaard is rearing his ugly head now and again to make it a choice of 4.

If you were to pick a player and start him every game, the best player for his price is probably Lindergaard, but is he safe? I don't think he is and Fergie will surely give De Gea a chance. This may be in the Cups, but he could always work his way back into the side.

Now if you go with Vorm and look at the fixtures where Swansea have a tough game, Krul fills a decent number of those. There are 3-4 games where both Swansea and Newcastle have a tricky fixture, but overall, I'd say those 2 are still a good choice.

Krul / Mignolet obviously goes together quite well as one is always at home (Newcastle/Sunderland), but that means dropping Vorm who is probably the best valued player available.

Any thoughts to add?

I sold Vorm.

I think he's had his bulk of the points for the season. Swansea are a good side, but I can't see many cleansheets until the end of the season.

For me, the pairing I'm after is Sorensen and Mignolet (8.7m).

I could sell Krul and Vorm for (9.3m). That extra 0.6m could go longer in my defence than my keepers.

The thing to keep in mind with Sorensen, is that he's actually scoring better away, than he is at home. This makes the rotating home games, less straight forward.

I'm not up for the home/away rotation. Obviously it'll count to some degree but I'll pick the better fixture. i.e. QPR away rather than Newcastle home.

You already know Lindegard is the best option. If De Gea gets a chance - So what? Vorm/Krul/Mignolet will then come in for Lindegard from the subs bench - This isnt TFF

Good idea this thread, I've been umming and arring myself.

I'm looking as far as the next 10-12 or so weeks, and on that basis have definitely decided I'm keeping Krul who has the following delightful run of home fixtures:

GW24 Aston Villa (H), GW26 Wolves (H), GW27 Sunderland (H), GW29 Norwich (H), GW33 Bolton (H), GW35 Stoke City (H)

It's then a case of finding someone to match the away weeks (and liverpool home game on GW31). Grudgingly the best match I can find is Man Utd whose fixtures in the gaps would be:

GW23 Stoke City (H), GW25 Liverpool (H), GW28 West Brom (H), GW30 Fulham (H), GW31 Blackburn (A), GW32 QPR (H), GW34 Aston Villa (H)

But will Lindegaard keep his place? It's a risk but if he does it seems a dream pairing.

Mingolet rotates perfectly with Krul in terms of home/away fixtures but this includes games against Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs (and you'd have to take Kruls home game with Liverpool too) in the same time period.

Vorm also has good home/away matchups but again the fixtures aren't great, swanseas defence can surely only get worse and he's now a wee bit more expensive.

Sorensen seems to be the other option but his good fixtures seem to coincide with Krul's a bit too often for my liking (and could be a rotation risk).

I think I'm going to go with Lindegaard (just) over Mingolet but it will be a painful wait for the man utd teamsheets every other week.

So that means you'll be starting Lindergaard every game?

Good luck with that. Man U from GW24 have: Chelsea LIVERPOOL Norwich Spurs where I can see 0 CS.

Now if you'd have come out and said Krul / Lindergaard or Sorensen / Lindergaard, I may have agreed with you :)

We know Stoke are usually strong at home, despite the away scoring of Sorensen so far. Him and Lindegaard look good, if we can trust Begovic isn't going to spoil it. That's a big if though - Krul Lindegaard is the best IMO but more expensive. If I'd bought Vorm for 4mn, then it'd be him and another though - this is key for lots of people. For what is effectively 4.6mn, Vorm is a steal.

Vorm/Sorensen, rotating on home-away basis.

I would say that Mignolet is as much of a rotation risk as Sorensen, with Gordon nearing a return.

I got Lindegard/Sorensen as part of my WC but Sorensen now makes me nervous after his dislplay last week and if I was on a WC now I would do Lindegard/Al Habsi.

On the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" principle:

Vorm/Krul

Had Krul+Mignolet since day 1, and Newc+Sund since the first day of last season. Cheap and for the most part reliable.

Bought Vorm when he was 4.0 and not going to drop him at all I don't think. So it's Vorm/Lindegaard, starting Lindegaard every week for me. United aren't a rock solid team without Vidic but they are always stubborn.

That's one way of going about it, but you're going to play Lindergaard vs Liverpool in GW25 when Vorm have Norwich at home?

Actually a Lindergaard/Vorm pairing won't be so bad as it means I keep Simpson and less chance of doubling up, unless I opt for Evans.

I've just been doing a bit more number crunching and I'm warming towards a Krul/Lindergaard pairing.

From GW28 Lindergaard has:
WBA Wolves FULHAM Rovers QPR Wigan ASTON VILLA EVERTON Man City SWANSEA

Apart from the City away game, that's a fine run.

For GW24-27 Krul has:
ASTON VILLA Spurs WOLVES SUNDERLAND

The only GWs where neither have a decent game is:
GW25: Man U home to Liverpool and Newcastle away to Spurs
GW38: Man U away to Sunderland and Newcastle away to Everton

For GW38, some teams may no longer have anything to play for so that could end up being one of the above having an easier fixture than on paper.

Lindergaard isn't nailed on, but as things stand I feel it's his shirt to lose. De Gea could always play the Europa League games instead.

The alternative is Krul/Mignolet and when Gordon comes back, Mignolet's place isn't secure either.

Ha, yeah I did read that yesterday, just forgot, lol.

Nice to have some form of confirmation on my line of thinking though.

De Gea hasn't looked all that great so far today so can't see Lindergaard losing his place anytime soon.

Yeah, it must be said that de gea has looked less than confident today so far. I'm sure lindy was warming up at one point, so I can't see him losing his pl place at the moment. Still worried about him being rested for the easy fixtures mind.

I'm pretty much decided on lindegaard/krul now, which surprises me as I was arguing that lindegaard was a bad choice on this forum only 2 weeks ago...

almost transferred vorm out to lindegaard before noticing he's 97% of the way to a rise. Surely he'll rise before Tuesday evening... surely? :?

I'd still wait, it's only .1 more.

We'll know the starting 11 for United before the deadline, but really can't see De Gea starting in goal.

This.

Its like having Plan A or Plan A, either way your keeper is gonna be great.

To try and even up the outcomes i've thrown in Taylor from Swansea in the defence to cover me if they keep good clean sheets.

Caulker is the Swansea defender I'll probably bring in, if I decide to swap Vorm.

Swansea have a couple of decent CS chances in the next few GWs away to wba and Wigan.

They also have a nice 5 game run from GW32:
NEWCASTLE qpr ROVERS Bolton WOLVES

Newcastle may be dodgy, but the other 4 are nice and Swansea are keeping even some of the best teams at bay when they're at home.

good point.

i was going to bring in Kelly just so that i can diversify my defensive coverage, but 2 swansea defenders might not be a bad call.

Not sure I'd go as far to have 2 Swansea defenders, but it's looking like I'll swap Vorm for Lindegaard, so bringing Caulker for 4.0 makes a great bench player to play the odd game.

I didn't plan on doubling up on keeper+defender but Lindergaard+Evans and Krul+Simpson(owned both all season) are 2 decent shouts. Especially, then one or both teams have a nice fixture for most GWs.

It means I can spread the risk and just play 1, or if the odds suggest it, play both.

sorry, meant GK + DEF.

Right now i have VORM< Lindergaard, and Evans. Thinking Kelley for caulker might nto be a bad idea before my wildcard expires. Vorm and Taylor have treated me quite well all season.

I've had another look and I'm thinking leaving Evans out and having Shawcross.

If you look from GW24 to GW27 and then from GW28 onwards, it could make a nice ShawX  Evans transfer.

That's one plan. The other is to just buy Evans and bench him for the run of:
Chelsea LIVERPOOL Norwich Spurs
