Oh no but i'm an 8 dog day visiting the Khazi and depositing a load and a arf. Come the end of the evening my tea-towel-holder is like a eff blood-orange. The bogroll feels like sandpaper and ive got 6 sheets of bogroll plastered up my back where i've played chase the shit whilst wiping.
So theres nothing better than when pissed arriving home at 2 a.m than to have a final clear out and a nice wet one all over as i dont wanna snuggle up with NESSIE and she gets a waft of me shitty back.

My kids are 16 +18 now.

Was aware that some scientists were arguing against man made global warming but was still of the opinion that the majority still supported it.

This programme seems to be based on the "bandwagons in science are bad" theory. No shit, Sherlock!

A bit like the 'smoking is strongly linked to lung cancer' bandwagon...or the 'asbestos is linked to mesothelioma' bandwagon or the [insert your own scientifically proven theory here] bandwagon...

Science can't prove global warming one way or another at the moment.

What isn't in dispute is that the natural resources we are burning will run out sooner or later so we had better plan very well for when that day comes.

- Humans causing global warming a theory created by the Thatcher government as propaganda to promote nuclear power during the oil crisis
- Industrialised nations using the same arguments to prevent the industrialisation of the 3rd world
- All the predictions of catastrophic climate change based on false assumptions from flawed scientific theory
- The myths perpetuated in order to keep the whole 'global warming industry' going

That was one of the best TV programmes I've seen in ages. Just shows you how easy it is to get brainwashed by constant rhetoric from the government, press and so called 'experts'. If you're told the same thing enough times, you will believe it (especially if you don't hear any dissenting voices). A well made and compelling programme - I wonder what the backlash will be? You can guarantee there will be one, as it said, the whole global warming thing is now a huge industry in itself and you can bet they won't go down without a fight. Cue more dodgy scientific forecasts......

The only thing that surprised me is that it took so long for a programme like this to get aired - although I suppose it was in response to the 'Inconvenient Truth' documentary by Al Gore.

It's nice to think that CO2 emmissions are not contributing to global warming, but I'd hate to think that as a result of this people ditch any sort of energy saving principles - as nash said, it doesn't alter the fact that in a relatively short space of time fossil fuels are going to run out and that's what we need to be planning for.

I'm not sure that either of those represented scientific theories...

The point I was making is that people rely upon science all the time to reveal problems and suggest solutions.

One person's 'bandwagon' is another's 'the weight of scientific evidence'. It's self-defining - bandwagons are only bad if they are wrong...

A few years ago they were producing Documentary's showing fringe scientists putting forward a case for global warming. Governments were accused of ignoring the facts and blindly carrying on regardless of the outcome to the planet.

Popular opinion grew and finally the Governments gave in to the scientists and started talking about Global warming. Now everyone thinks its a conspiracy.

It just goes to show that whatever the Government tells us, no one wants to believe it.

I watched part of last nights programme and it was very convincing what I saw. What concerns me though is that it was telling us all what we wanted to hear, and providing us with an easy excuse to carry on as we are and do nothing.

How accurate and unbiased was it though?. I'd love to see a debate between these scientists and the one's who promote man made Global warming. All given equal time to promote and disagree with each others theories.

Just shows how people believe what they want to believe when confronted by the competing views of two opposing camps of 'so-called experts'.

Why choose to believe one and not the other? Simply because it fits within the 'conspiracy theory'...

The idea that 1,000s of scientists around the world are being deliberately disengenuous (or at worst fraudulent) because they are somehow dependent upon research funding which will only be released if they support theories of man-made climate change is laughable...Of course all of the opposing experts are driven purely by altruism and a desire to seek the truth...

By all means let's have a debate but let's not get carried away that opposing views suddenly negates all of the research that has gone on before. Sure there's alternative theories and as Nash suggests the consensus view of a group of experts is not always correct. But then neither are the contrarians...
