This was originally posted in the FPL forum. Could I ask everyone to consider posting useful info like this into a more general forum? Ideally the Specialist Club Knowledge.

There are other games than FPL.com

Ta! :)

I knew this would happen.

I obviously appreciate what you're saying but Specialist Club Knowledge? Who looks in there?

Certainly none of the people I was hoping to inform before they make transfers and decisions in FPL for this Gameweek.

A lot of FPL forum members stick solely to the FPL forum, it wouldn't surprise me now if some people miss the information (admittedly it will soon become common knowledge but some people would still have missed it) as not all of them use the New Posts button etc etc and are very new/green.

I think there's more leeway as regards this sort of thing when it comes to the FPL Forum as it has a different dynamic and type of poster.

It's up to you whether you move it but I see no issue with putting it in the FPL forum

There was nothing specifically FPL-related in the post, so i think it makes sense to move it to Team News (incl INJURIES) - the clue is in the last bit  .

It just makes sense to have these in a central location, otherwise each individual forum will end up clogged up with its own version of the same posts.

If other FPL users don't know how to use the site properly, more fool them :P .

I totally agree with Nedved. I only have the FPL forum bookmarked and never look anywhere else. Clicking through every single club in the Premier League in the specialist knowledge forum soon gets old.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the logic, no issues there and said as much.

I just feel an exception should be made for FPL for my aforementioned reasons.

Also, he's not injured :P

I think perhaps the Team News (inc Injuries) Forum should be linked to from all the fantasy football forums, then more people might use it a bit more.

there's a big wide fiso world out there waiting to be explored!

the logic is to prevent multiple posts in FPL, TFF, SUN, Sky etc etc and then those fisoers who do frequent all fora (?) don't have a clue what thread to reply to!

IMO the ideal scenario is that all news like this be put in either the club thread or the injuries/team news thread, and then specific game banter regarding the news should be linked back to it, that way general chit chat is all in the one place, the links will show those that stick to certain games that there's more info out there, and game specific chat (i.e. player cost, transfers, benching TW1 etc etc) are contained where it's relevant.

but thats just my opinion, and it wont work unless folk start doing what I tell them!

Well said Barry. The forum structure is there for a reason and it's very clearly stated in the etiquette guidelines (that everyone is required to abide by) where you should post.

As someone who frequents lots of different forums, as I believe is the norm around here, it wastes my time to constantly read the same old bit of news. If I'm pressed for time, the one resource I want to access is selection, injury and other team news; I'd much rather have that concentrated in the Team News and SCK forums than go hunting for it in a myriad of forums. Once I have the facts, I'm quite happy to make my own mind. If I have spare time, then I like to read the analysis on how it affects individual games in each forum.

Also, I believe Admin has specifically stated in the past that he would prefer it if ghettoes don't appear, where people only stick to one forum. While there's no way (or will) to enforce that, he wants you all to enjoy all of the site and not restrict yourselves to one small part of FISO. And yes, both the FPL and Sun forums are small parts when weighed against the overall whole. Go forth and explore! :)

People not posting general team and injury news in a specific game forum seems a no brainer and only those lacking the latter will continue to post in inappropriate places.

However the more interesting question is when to post in team news/injury forum or in specialist club threads. How about all short term stuff being under team news/injuries, while longer term stuff including pre-season news should be in the specialist club threads. Mind you this is just one suggestion among various alternatives.

You're right & that's probably getting towards the ideal. It's impossible to pigeon hole everything however.

As a suggestion:

Places to post

SCK Contains 2 threads per club, a News only thread AND Starting XI & 2010/11 General Chat & Starting X1 Thread thread.
Team News (incl. INJURIES)

& by all means start a thread on a game's page if needs be.

The SCK threads absolutely could be better, if more people want to post on them and contribute to them then they will become a better resource for EVERYONE.
