Hmmmm, keeping a clean sheet in his absence doesn't bode well. Not sure whether to stick or twist here already in my post-WC team.

Terry out with a knee injury. Cahill's first start? Hope they don't get hammered. :?

Don't forget Ivanovic and Luiz can also play in the centre.

These Chelsea casualties are making more confident of a Swansea clean sheet. 8-)

Swansea MAN UNITED Everton to come.

The only people rushing to get him in will be those who never look at the fixtures.

Chelsea are a top 6 side. If you get Cahill in and he's a starter then regardless of fixtures, he's a good buy at that price. He's going to have hard games, but that's what defender rotation is all about. Whilst it's unlikely that they would keep a cleansheet against ManU, it's also unlikely that ManU will score more past them than they would a mid-table side, so you wouldn't have to worry about as much minus points.

Cahill is a risk. At 5.2m if he's a starter then regardless of fixtures he's a must have.

I don't believe any player is a 'must have'.

He's certainly someone that can be planned ahead to be brought in after their next 3. These 3 games give us all a chance to see how he fits in and whether he is indeed a nailed on starter - which as things stand, nobody knows.

I can see where you're coming from, he's a bit like Evans in the fact that even if he was suddenly left out, he's not taking a huge slice of your budget, but he's not yet played for Chelsea and with their next 3 games, I just feel taking both of those points into consideration I'd prefer to wait.

However, if he plays this GW and has a blinder, as I'll be on WC from tonight, they'll only have 2 dodgy games to go before: BOLTON wba STOKE Man City SPURS Aston Villa WIGAN Fulham NEWCASTLE but think if you're Wild Carding now, he can be a penciled to transfer in for GW26.

I assume that's not the winter wildcard? You're too late for that.

Winter or January WC can still be played this GW, I'm currently on it..
Or did I miss something here?

Good call, and very nearly the clean sheet you predicted (it should have been!!).

It concerns me that Cahill didn't get the nod yesterday. I just wonder if this is another signing (like De Bruyen) where AVB had no knowledge or contribution and is therefore being a little stubborn and bench warming his bosses new recruits! Perhaps I'm being a little bit too analytical!

So are we any clearer on who starts when all 3 of Terry Cahill and Luiz are fit? Looks like Luiz & Terry still.

Dont forget about Ivanovic. I have been amazed from the start how many people grabbed Cahill! Cahill is third best as a defensive CB and 2nd best if AVB wants to play with an attacking minded CB. This translates to all the Cahill owners being SOL barring any injuries.

Cahill, at home to his former club, is tempting, as long as you have a decent sub in case he doesn`t play. Lots of talk about him not being an AVB signing though.

Bosingwa at only 0.3m more seems to be a regular starter again. He's the CRD at Chelsea, if that's what you're after.

I'd say this is 99% certain. I don't think Cahill's an option FPL-wise. I had him but I shipped him.

He's no CRD - Ivanovic is the first choice right back, he's just had to cover centre at times. Ivanovic is better than Bos both defensively and in attack.

Bosingwa costs £1.1m less than Ivanovic. And the Bo's played 90 minutes in 10 out of the last 11 games. That makes him the cheapest regular defender to me.

Really don't understand why no one listens when this comes up. Cahill is not the third choice CB, he is 4th behind Terry, Luiz and Ivanovic. The only way Cahill gets the start is if AVB wants to play more defensively in a game and puts Ivanovic at RB instead of bosingwa. If you want to take the rotation risk then go for it but I'de rather have a 4.0 defender as my 5th.

As you see I say he is third best DEFENSIVE[b/B] and second best as an [b]ATTACKING CB. Neither of which changes the fact that he is 4TH CHOICE from the manager. I do see how it could be confusing since I didn't really articulate my thoughts as well of I should've. But no matter how you read it, seems like it would be a total waste to pick him up until it is a guarantee he will not be subject to the rotation.

Subbed after 10 mins in UCL, looks like hamstring.

I still don't agree.

Either way, we probably won't find out for sure for a while now.

I cannot be right on this but is this the correct time to invest in the Chelsea defence. With calamity players in David Luiz and Jose Boswinga?

I considered Cahill but with the problems around Chelsea, I shall pass.

Was going to be transferring him out, but guess he's going to be playing now that Bosingwa's out...

Been easily my worst decision of the season to bring him in for BAE, but will give him a reprieve for the next 3 matches which look better for cleansheets than most...

Fingers crossed.

With Bos and Terry injured I can't really see them playing anyone other than:
Ivan Cahill Luiz Cole
As there's no one left!

Not sure they'll keep too many cleanies with them 4 though :?
