Who's on it?

Remember it's the last week to use your 'winter' WC so if you haven't used it by now you might as well after the next deadline ;)

From 19:30 31st January up to 11:30 4th February (GMT)

Planning to just dash in the price risers and then hopefully from there have a solid enough team for the run in.

I've had no need to use it before Tuesday and with the likes of Spurs and Liverpool having a turn of fixtures for the worse, and Man City having a turn for the better, after GW23, amongst several other things, it looked to be the best time to use it.

GW24 wilcarders will be lucky to pick up any 0.1 profits. Demsey had a cracking score but took the three days to get the 0.2 rise.

I've wildcarded but all the same GW24 is a great time for it too.

Yeah I think you're right, there won't be much movement, however having owned most of the big risers this season, I'm not all that concerned with any more rises to sell for profit during the 5 days next week.

I think the first part of the season is where you make the most money, when there's more people playing the game.

Now, I think it's less about making a profit and more about getting players to get you through to the end of the season.

I'm not wildcarding purely for value, but if you can have that as a by-product then it's crazy not too. Clearly it's best to have as much cash as possible to build a team.

It's not crazy not to. It is clear there will be little in the way of rising, use the wildcard for what it is there for, re-building your team. Don't make the mistake of worrying who will or won't rise and forgetting about your own tactics and intentions. I think we have all done that.

I've spent most of this absurd ff season with 1-2m in the bank. Never experienced a season where money meant so little

Well if you have the time (and inclination) there's no reason not to get 0.1 or 0.2 extra. You can make the tactical decisions at the end of the week.

Good things come to those who wait. Namely the return of Demba Ba 8-)

Let's do this my fellow GW24ers.

Where are you stickiest TRSS? Defence?

I've currently done:
Vorm  Mignolet: Until Linda returns for United
Evans(short term), Enrique(poor fixtures including a blank), Brown(injured and turn of fixtures), BAE(poor upcoming fixtures) Huth, Kompany, Kelly, Caulker(for Swansea's odd nice CS potential in home games)
Sessegnon  McClean (cheaper and better value),
Walters(poor form) Dempsey(a punt due to Fulham's run for the mid future)
Sturridge/Adebayor(both poor form and fixtures) Aguero Ba

Team as things stand:
Krul / Mig
Kompany Huth Simpson Caulker Kelly
Silva Dempsey Valencia Bale McClean
Ba Aguero RVP

I've just sorted my team out and as it stands my back five are;

Raylor, Enrique, Richards, J Evans, BAE.

Thoughts?

Well the reason why I shipped Enrique out is because Liverpool have a blank in GW26, plus they have overall:
SPURS Man United {BLANK GW} ARSENAL Sunderland

However, I guess it depends what price you got him in for. I got him pretty late so he'll probs only cost about 0.2 if I want him back.

Richards instead of Kompany is always a risk, due to Richards not being as nailed on. Zabaletta can always come in and play some games.

Evans: I've taken him out for 4 GWs as I think United will struggle for CS: Chelsea LIVERPOOL Norwich Spurs
but that's when Stoke's nice run end, so I have in mind a Huth > Evans switch.

BAE, I've also taken out due to their turn in fixtures, but have the plan to bring him back in for GW29 or GW31.

I'd have Vorm instead of Mig, after all he is the top GK points scorer. The table doesn't lie ;)

Haha, I took Vorm out for Mig. I just feel Mignolet or Lindergaard paired with Krul is the best.

I took into account the money I'd receive for Vorm and decided he wasn't worth that amount.

If I had that defence pre-wildcard I'd be using it to get rid of 3 of that back 5.

Enrique and BAE have some real dodgy fixtures in the next 6 or so gameweeks and raylor has lost his place in both the newcastle defence and midfield - the only reason he started against Blackburn was that Cabaye was suspended. Although you could get lucky as HBA was so bad on the right on wednesday that he got subbed off at half time. There's also Obertan fighting for that position mind.
