I can't see Ba starting this week especially after Newcastle winning 2-0 without him. If he does start I can't see him getting more than 50-60 min. More likely is a 10 min spell at the end, thus ruining your sub coming in. With Spurs (a) next week, I think GW26 is the time to bring him in.

Best article I have found on the Newcastle striker situation.

My personal opinion is that you'll see Ba playing alongside either Ameobi or Best back in a 442, with Pardew ditching his 4231 experiment. I'd also predict a 20 minute cameo for Cisse.

With regards to the 2-0 win without Ba, it was an absolutely shocking performance, in which we were outplayed in every stat other than goals scored. I really wouldn't read too much into that result.

On a side note, with the revert to 442 and Obertan's goal mid-week, there is a strong possibility that Ben Arfa will lose some playing time. For now at least, I suspect he'll retain his starting role.

I now have a very generic midfield

Silva / Bale / Dempsey / Valencia / Sessignon

On the subject of Newcastle, how secure are Santon and Williamson in the starting XI for forseeable future?

Saving my transfer to the last minute in case there's snow and postponed games, might even just save it for next week.

Been planning this no-cost double for a while:

Walker  McAuley (Spuds clean sheet run is over IMO, need to free up cash for...)
Walters  Valencia (ManU man is on top form and Walters has done a good job for me)

It makes my team easier to pick, with a set 3-4-3 most weeks. I'm refusing to jump on the Dempsey bandwagon as I've left it too late now.

I am also tempted to do Sturridge  Ba at a cost of 4 points. I've seen and appreciate the arguments above that we should wait until GW26 but (a) I think Ba will start and score, (b) Sturridge has been woeful and I want rid, (c) I only have £0.1m to play with, Ba may well go up tonight and, if so, I can't afford Sturridge to go down at the same time and the NTI figures have vanished off CtC/FPL site itself, so I'm in a bit of a pickle on that one.

I think I'll pop to the pub and have a couple of jars... then come back pished, forget all about it and wake up with my plans torn asunder tomorrow morning. Sounds a plan! :)

Both nailed on for the forseeable future.

On the topic of strikers it would be a fool who picks cisse over ba at this stage certainly, ba is the only option for me. And a good one at that.

Adebayor  Zamora. Done.

The fact that every outlet is backing him to start, and Hughes is desperate to pair him and Cisse, makes it a formality IMO.

Walters  Valencia (ManU man is on top form and Walters has done a good job for me)

???? Unless Walter is injured I think you should sit for 4 weeks with Walter - Valencia

Walter has 3 home games in next 4 whereas Utd play Chelsea Liverpool and Spurs with 3 of 4 away. After that they have a good run and Valencia can be season long assuming no injury.

Only a view - but Walter is still a good choice and has scored 4 points or more in 8 from 11 home games.

If you dont like Walker then you can still ship but Stoke / QPR cheap options are there for now in advanceof a 2 double switch to Utd players

Just done my WC last week but I am tempted to do a 4 point hit for Ade  Ba and Evans or Walker  Vermaelen (should have brought him in along with the others surely...)

You might want hold off on getting McAuley as well as he could quite easily lose his place in the starting XI to Liam Ridgewell.

I think Ridgewell will come in at left back. McAuley is playing well alongside Olsson while Shorey has been the weak link in the WBA defence for a while. So LR's arrival should actually benefit McAuley. I've looked at some WBA fan opinions and they all see him at left back.

I'm getting Sturridge in soon, but meanwhile as a Liverpool fan, I'm holding him as a jinx against Chelsea :)

Damn... Was looking at Walcott, Oxlade or Van Persie.

No Arsenal cover's going to cost me again...

FFS Cisse...

This is why I should never pick any Liverpool player past or present in my side...

FFS 2 : Keane...

Total waste of a tinker, serves me right - just cost me 12 points (Cisse's -2, -4 for transfer and at least 6 for Keane)

Bloody ex-Reds!...
