What a great series - I love the unpredictability and randomness of it ....with some great British actors like Charles Dance lording it up, literally.

Some fine looking women too - that Emilia Clarke is a lovely little thing ...I wonder what she was thinking reading the script!? ...in this scene I'm touched up by my brother, in this one I'm eating a horses heart, in this one I'm dry ridden by a concubine, in this one I'm naked with 3 baby dragons.

Hopefully, i've ended up reading the first 4 books, book 5 out on paperback early march so will wait for that.
Flew through books 2&3, brilliant reads
Book 4 i struggled with, think it was because he introduced loads of new characters & featured heavily on many i wasn't that bothered about, whereas book 5 which goes along side book 4 in terms of the timings of events does feature all the better characters IMO (john snow, danearys etc)

Will this be difficult to get into? I missed the first season so will be starting at tonight's S2 Ep1. I did record a half hour season one summary show the other night which I plan to watch immediately beforehand.

If I were you, I'd record season two and buy/rent yourself season one on dvd to watch first, it is excellent. Catch up programmes are not overly thorough.

Do you know anyone who'd kindly give you their Sky Go details?

Don't think so. Would that work on Sky Player as well out of interest? Hope you all enjoyed it (are enjoying it). :)

I've got S2 on record but also thought I'd try with last night's episode. I found it fairly enjoyable but obviously hard to relate to the characters / families. The box set for S1 is now on order so S2 is on pause until I've caught up.

Still behind you lot ....

But i hope you have read the books, cuz all the series does is put faces to names for me ....

I've now found a free gap in my book reading and am 126 odd pages into the latest book, but it's been so long since i read the original's that i'm thinking of ditching it and going from the 3rd book again onwards cuz characters which are mentioned (i just can't remember the full details) but i can't go back to book 1 cuz all i have in my head is the series on tele .....

This is a very strange feeling for me cuz this is the first time that i new the book and loved it and couldn't wait for the next book .... but then went backwards by watching the series .....
