The early pre-season games aren't worth looking at as much as the ones nearer to the league kick-off. The early games are mostly about easing the players back towards match fitness.

Would not have been at all surprised if that had been Scott Carson in goal!! Thought Boaz was better than that though!!

Somen Tchoyi likely to be fielded as a striker next season according to reports: http://bit.ly/qmkkgW

Could be a decent OOP option at a bargain price?

Tchoyi won't start as a striker. Not with Cox playing well and the possibility of Long coming.

Don't waste your money thinking Tchoyi will score well this year.

WB supporters - Do you think Odemwinge can continue where he left off last season?

Will Tchoyi be a regular starter in midfield however? Or is he bench fodder?

I second the above question about Tchoyi. Any fans with any insight/foresight, please?

My guesses

Defence

Foster & Shorey nailed on
Olsson, Jara, Cech & Billy Jones battling for the other spots

Tchoyi & Gera rotation behind Brunt, Morrison, Jerome Thomas & Mulumbu

Cox, Odemwingie up front backed up by M-A Fortune

As far a Gera is concerned, he's a good signing for us, a fans favourite and will contest midfield with Brunt, Mulumbu, Dorrans and Thomas.

Tchoyi is a difficult one to answer. There is talk of him being played upfront with Odem, but that's not a definate. If Shane Long gets signed, then Tchoyi will be in Midfield at best. Also Cox is getting better every season too, so he could also play upfront with Odem.

But if I was a betting man, I'd see Tchoyi playing in a forward role with Odem, but it's a bit of a gamble and there's better midfielders out there anyway.

Let me just climb off the fence now

I got stung by Thoyi last season.

I think WBA could be one of the FPL Golden Geese this season, but not a clue about their players etc. Woy did well to keep them up, and will be defensively well organised..........

Don't forget Scharner, he'll probably start in Midfield too.

Foster
Olsson, Jara, Dawson, Shorey
Brunt, Scharner, Thomas, Mulumbu
Tchoyi or Gera
Odemwingie

Doesn't matter, he was banned for 3 games anyway!

Gera is unavailable for the first three games of the season after being sent off in his final match for Fulham against Arsenal. He is also receiving treatment for an ankle injury and is likely to be available for selection by mid-September.

I think this will be our starting 11 v Man Utd

Foster

Reid Tamas Olsson Shorey

Mulumbu Schnarner

Brunt Thomas

Dorrans/Cox/Tchoyi

Odemwingie

If we sign a new centreback he will replace Tamas, cant see Woy playing Dawson Or Mcauley infront of Tamas as neither played in the Prem. Biggest choice is who plays behind Odemwingie i think, and if we bring in Shane Long i really dont know what formation he will play then. Hope this helps folks

Regarding Tchoyi graham, he doesnt know what hes going to do next on the footy pitch let alone anyone else lol. Preason hes played quite well, He was just behind Wingie On Saturday.

We got Olympiakos On thursday night, i can pick that game up on my Satelitte dish as its being Shown on a Greek Channel, so i will let you know

SOMEN Tchoyi's last-gasp goal brought Albion's pre-season preparations to a pleasing conclusion.

As far as fitness workouts go, this friendly against a well-drilled Italian outfit ticked all of the boxes as the Baggies saw plenty of the ball but struggled to find a way through the tourists' defensive wall ....

ALBION (4-4-1-1): Foster (Fulop 67); Jara Reyes, Tamas, Olsson, Shorey (Mattock HT); Morrison (Fortune 71), Mulumbu, Scharner (Thorne HT), Dorrans (Cox 54); Brunt; Tchoyi. Subs not used: Dawson, Roofe, Mantom, Jones.

WBA reject out of hand an offer from Wigan for striker Peter Odemwingie. Dan Ashworth: "We have no intention of selling Peter."
