I'd watch Derren Brown if I was still up, but I'm regularly in my bed by that late hour :D

I accidentally wrote Buzzcocks instead of News for you.

:D

Sorry for getting your hopes up!

And, Dixie, if Buzzcocks does come back again (which i assume it will soon) Simon amstell will still be at the helm. I find him semi-worthy of lamarr, so its acceptable. 8-)

The most recent series only ended 3 or 4 weeks ago, did you see it? I missed it because I was out of the country, but the previous series was superb.

I was gutted when Mark Lamarr left, but Simon Amstell's doing a cracking job. I love the way he rips the piss out of the D-list pop stars that guest on there

Aha, i agree. He has no shame.

Especially on the cases of Preston (who he replaced with a person in the crowd when he stormed off) and that wazzock Donny tourette.

That is a good line-up, I'd add Jonathan Ross in there too (for those who fancy a bit of a late night  ). Especially looking forward to Peep Show, best British sitcom for ages IMO. Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield should be interesting - Enfield's last few series were desperately unfunny, IMO, and Whitehouse totally eclipsed him in recent years.

Must be - the 5th series has been commissioned but not yet made. Still very re-watchable though - I don't know how many times I've seen some of them thanks to that G2 channel but all good.

Except when John Sessions is on :P

9pm and BBC1 has Holby Effing City and BBC2 has Timewatch! :?
HIGNFY is on at 10:35, but Harry Enfield isn't on at all.

Don't worry Flyman, you're not missing much. I've stopped watching Harry Enfield after 10 mins it's that bad. Another example of English humour to me. That's not meant derogatory, just think the Scots have a drier sense of humour whereas the English laugh at stupid things like Little Britain. I bet the English even think You've been framed is funny

Ah, well, at least I'll get to see 'Peep Show', my favourite sitcom in years! :P

Hairybear: I know what you are saying, but too often the production quality of Scottish shows is much poorer (granted, the budget is much smaller!) and the standard of supporting actor much weaker.
Its strength lie in the social interaction between the characters as much, if not more, than it does in the situation.

But that isn't exclusive to Scotland.

'Catchphrase comedy' has its place, but we've seen far too much of it over the past 10 years, imo. Invariably, the catchphrase becomes tiresome and the search for fresh senarios ridiculous. The trouble is, it's too easy to write and often cheap to make = 21st Century TV execs' wet dream.

I'm (sort of) English and hate Little Britain. I also hated most of the Harry & Paul show, although I did find the Brokeback Mountain bit really funny. Sadly I do actually quite like You've Been Framed but regular readers will have already seen me admit to liking Kelly Clarkson's 2nd CD so make of that what you will.

A particularly good QI tonight but I like Jimmy Carr so it suited me well.

However, I was intrigued about the bleeping policy being used tonight. Apparently "eff" (damn filter!) is not acceptable but "shit" and "bollocks" are - none of which bother me but who decided what swear words were acceptable for broadcast and which weren't

BTW this is my second most drunken post in FISO history. You should all be grateful (or otherwise) I can still type
