Is anyone who didn't get a bye happy with their draw?

Lets be honest, there are no easy draws anywhere! Whilst we all get to our finishing positions through careful consideration of form, value, fixtures etc the start of the season is still a bit of a lottery.

It's like the old Tiger Woods who never used to lead after the first round.

I wanted a bye!

There are some pretty decent players in the game so there are no easy games - If you are going to lift the silver plate you have to beat the best.

The scores are in from the various courts and are posted above - there were some close sets this week, in fact 4 went to tie breaks....

the closest of them all saw Ironfist breakdown WHATEVER 8-v-4 based on points on bench after both had captained Lampard and scored the same on pitch bonus points. Whatever was unlucky to lose the set with 62. (as indeed wasBaganBoy.

Kengster pipped Shaggy365 4-3 on GW bonus points after they had both captained Lampard.

BLOUFO broke down sir_john_grimes's defences with a single GW bonus point (both captained Lampard again).

Fil16's captaincy of Lampard saw him past amcal59 who captained Rooney (16 points -v- 10).

There is however plenty of time for comebacks....

Elsewhere Karrde and alwaysonthebeer powered home 6-0.

Remember even if you are not qualifying you are still scoring for the right to be seeded in the final draw - so no slacking off!

Please can you all check your scores - especially the tiebreakers - it was a bit manual this week - but I will improve the backing spreadsheets this week so its all a bit more automated, ta.

Nice work, Knulpuk. I think looking at those scores it was lucky I got a bye. I keep looking at my squad and can see nothing but sh*t looking back at me! Out of all the games I have entered FPL was by far the hardest to get anything looking even half decent.

6-2 humiliation in the 1st set Perhaps I'll try a tennis racket for the 2nd set instead of a 7 Iron.

No fewer than 11 players going through in straight sets. Discogod is the unluckiest - losing the second set 6-3 despite a score of 90

Just 4 ties go to a decider.

One tie this week went to a tie break where - minigokou hung in by the skin of his teeth via his 2 gameweek transfers to GM's 3.

Alwaysonthebeer is the man to avoid (see above re Discogod!) and is surely favourite for the top seed spot - 170th overall at the moment - a great show of form.

atx1303 goes out - a past 3rd overaller! (well played Colbert)

Red, White and Black did not pick up a single game in his tie!

AKNel1 deserves a mention for scoring just 58 points this week - hold on, sorry - 58 points so far - oh dear - still makes me feel a bit better!

Just to remind everyone that whilst qualification is over 3 sets - the tournament itself spans 5 sets!

Somehow made it through qualification in straight sets so far. That's even with a few broken strings in my racket.

Still one week to go but these are the provisional seedings so you know what you need to do...

Where totals are the same - seeding is based on highest GW3 score, then 2 etc.

Think I can count myself the luckiest guy in this comp. Only scored 106 over two GWs and win 2-0. Cheers Aknel1

Well played Kengster. Thanks for the tennis lesson. Another side competition I don't have to worry about.

A bit of a harsh draw though. Losing 136-130 is quite a good performance for me.

Second luckiest. I only scored 97 and winning 2-0. I like to see it as doing just enough to get through, saving the big scores for the 1st round proper.

Third luckiest. I only scored 92 and got a bye!

Very lucky there myself too, Shaggy. Think ours is the closest match-up.

7-6 7-5. Can't get much closer mate. Good match.

Qualification - the final results

In fact there were 5 not 4 ties that went to a final set and they were all pretty close. Those who move to the 1st proper are :

Sideswipe, trampie, Tacalabala, Fil16 and GM.

3 of the sets were won 7-5

Unlucky to all those who have gone out in qualifying (especially those who significantly outscored those with byes). Thanks for signing up.
