There is Chris Dimarco - could you become Chris Pimarcobits?

Thanks Stuboy, but you're about 7-8 posts too late:

Loads there you could use - look at all the people called Chris!

I personally would go for Cris PyMarco

That'll do me - thanks Discogod (was going from memory rather than a list and I'm not THAT big a golf fan)

Ben Crenshawprised is good.
Sounds like Sean Connery is trying to say Surprised

OK - so - this is how we line up - if everyone could take 10 secs to make sure they recognize what they see when they click on their name that would be helpful so I know your FPL buttons are all fine and dandy and up to date.

Playing Advice - Golfspeak

Drive left of centre, towards the small gorse bush at the edge of the burn. There is out of bounds left and right. The second should be played to the middle of the green to avoid the burn and the rough at the back.

Playing Advice - FPLspeak

There are a number of clubs that should not be in the bag this week as this hole just does not need them. One club will probably be used twice. There is a real chance some players will not go on the course with a full bag.

No problem - I sent a PM but then deleted it - I was being a bit dim as I have everyone's links from the FPL cup.
All sorted now.

Hole 1

Good evening from St Andrews on what has been an excellent week of Golf. 33 players turned out for the inaugral FPL Golf Open championship and anybody who braved the cold was not disappointed - the golf delivered.

I have an email here from Tom Spange of Old Ricketts - I know old Tom, he reminds me of time Young Tom Morris found his trousers were ...ah I digress.

To the scores:

Eagles for the following
Stu(art Apple)boy took a driver and landed it on the green sinking a monster putt for an Eagle.
Dronning Maud Land Took a 3 wood but his mashie niblick saw the ball stop dead and roll back into the hole
mowatson Hit his second off the face of his 9 iron it hit the bank and to crowds surprise in it rolled.

Double Bogies for the following
Jhonattan showed that luck in real golf is not translated to the FPL form of the game and he 4 putted for a terrible 2 dropped shots
Scoffw Verplank left his game in the locker room - straight in the burn - and a duffed chip saw him also drop two
"The Hawk" Hogan - Hit an air shot off the tee - although when the hole was over his caddy could be heard to say that was not the worst shot he hit on the opening hole.

There is a long way to go though - good luck on the second :D

good table :D

however im a little confused as there are 2 players scoring 48pts for the gameweek but one got a golf score of 0 and one got a score of +1. How does that work? is it to do with the world rankings?

Nope it is to do with me not noticing!

I will tidy up tomorrow - apologies all - 1st week nerves

I will also sort on score within the same category so it becomes a bit easier to spot this - well spotted Stick

Hit a decent tee shot, but landed on a Vidic divot so my second got tugged into the Odemwingie bunker. Pitched it onto the green, but missed a 20 footer due to a nasty Kelly/Carew breeze that knocked my ball off-line. Lucky to only drop one shot.

Playing advice

The right of the fairway holds hidden bunkers at 200 yards and savage gorse. The ideal tee shot should stop to the right of Cheape’s Bunker. The approach must take into account the pronounced diagonal ridge which forms the chief obstacle to the green.

Hole 2 - Dyke - The scores

The scores are in from the 2nd hole...

Hole 2 movers and shakers

Dronning Maud Land and Mowatson show us that momentum is everything - back to back eagles as both unbelievably chipped in from 90 yds.
Big Bird and Man United's #1 fan hit eagles too to add to their first hole birdies.

At the other end of the scoring "The Hawk" Hogan is having a miserable time - really out of sorts with a back to back double bogey.
Ben Crenshawprised seems to have a case of the yips too, 2 dropped shots following an erratic drive sees him at +3 after 2.
Cris PyMarco started well but he is Mr Inconsistency a birdie and a double bogey following an altercation with some heather.

Leaderboard

Well Dronning Maud Land and Mowatson lead the way on -4, early days but these two appear in great form....

Playing Advice

The major hazard on this hole is Cartgate Bunker, to the left of the green. The further left you drive, the more this bunker comes into play on the approach. There is a cluster of bunkers and some gorse to avoid on the right at average driving distance.

Decent start -1, my downfall was Ashleys Youngs penalty miss, poorer than my putting.
