FISO Regional League

You're chance to show off that your the best in your region, and better still, your chance to help your region be the best in the world! Get those old rivalries settled for once and for all and show those other regions who's boss.

This is one of the simplest sidegames to get involved in... simply add yourself to one of the leagues below and the rest is taken care of for you. You don't even need to put your name down on the thread or add a link to your team, just play FPL as normal... it's so simple there's no reason not to get involved.

Game Rules

 The game is played like a normal football league
 A region competes against an opposing region each week, determined by a prearranged fixture list.
 Each region's score is worked out by taking the average score the members in the region's FPL league that week.
 Points penalties for transfers will not be taken into account.
 If a member's score is below the FPL gameweek average it will not been included in the region's average for that week.
 A region scores 3 points for having a higher score than the opposition, 1 point for a tied score, and 0 points for a lower score.
 The league table will record the points for each team, as well as the scores for and against each week.
 In the case of a tie in points, regions will be sorted by score difference, then score for, then results against each other.
 The region at the top of the league after all fixtures have been played is the winner.
 New players can add themselves to the leagues at any point during the season; their scores will be taken into account from that point onwards.
 Players should limit themselves to joining one league only.

I'm a bit ignorant to English regions mate, so if there isn't one that suits then feel free to make a new league and post the details. Try and make it geographically large enough to encompass as reasonable area.

I've contacted the admin for that league about it, and will hopefully get the correct code soon.

You're doing a great job here Maureenho, well done for resurrecting these leagues.

I reckon there's a lot of potential for these leagues to develop some decent banter and good fun.

It needs more than the publication of tables though,to maintain interest,so if you can provide some sort of commentary when publishing the weekly tables, that could give this side game the kick it needs to establish itself as one of the favourite FPL sidegames, though that will take time.

Someone like Sunderland Fan in Boston or Le Red in Brazil could probably recruit for the Americas, unless there's enough to have separate North and South America regional leagues - there ought to be,considering how many FPLers we have from both regions, especially when combining Canada & USA.

I think it's largely a matter of publicising the existence of this sidegame,as often folk don't otherwise notice them.

Any news on the London & Home Counties league? The league is definitely live - http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=26667

Essex would be included in the Home Counties, wouldn't it?

I've had an idea that maybe all leagues could do, but you'd need every player to actually reply for this - Every player should post what the first part of their post code is, ie SW19. Then, if there was a North London, Manchester etc derby, we'd know.

All of the leagues above have been set up. Some have been renewed from last year and I'm just waiting on the admin for each league getting back to me with the code. The code for the London + HC esd posted yesterday, but it didn't work.

Oh, and sorry Stick ;)

I'll make a post in the main forum to try and generate some interest. I know what you mean about most folk not knowing about the sidegames... I never even looked at the subform until about half way through the season last year.

According to the almighty Wikipedia, Essex is in the Home Counties and East Anglia, so I suppose that means we can choose!

I've just checked last season and it seems Essex had a seperate league... of four players. Hardly worth having our own league then.

Shame that the leagues can't be converted into H2H's, would make it very interesting.

Anybody know how many players were in the Southwest League last season? I've just joined it but can't imagine it will be very popular

5 players last year, finishing in 4th place.

The most players in a single regional league was 9, but I'll be doing my best to get more people interested this season so things are a bit more competetive.

Okay. will try to sort it. That and the London ones were posted last night and neither seem to be working. Maybe last years codes or something.

Cheers for pointing that out.

Sorry mate, that was my doing. I closed your thread and started this one so that Maureenho could have a first post that he could edit (seeing as you said you couldn't be arsed. ;)). Thanks for starting this back up, you still get credit for that in my book :)

Yep, last year's code won't work. When you recreate a league from the previous season, it gets a new code (the league id which is the second part of the join code is assigned in order of creation).

While we need CarlosThe Finger to confirm this .... my guess for the code for London + HC's is

92062-26667

Can someone who wants to join that league try that and confirm.

also (educated guesses)

FISO AMERICAS 87547-25593

FISO ASIA 111492-31904

Right, entered the FISO Ireland league. At the moment, I'm very confident of finishing second.
