Game week 31 saw the first round of the FISOlympics javelin event. SunderlandFan leads but can she keep up her form.

Results to follow later in the week but first a reminder of the javelin rules.

Event 9: GW31, 32, 33

Points: Total points for FWDs converted to a distance
(Whole Squad included, 3xFWD, - Captain's points NOT doubled)
Foul: Foul throw if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (m) = 51 + (0.7 x FactoredPoints)

Well we can now answer the question:- who didn't have Milner, Rooney or Vermaelen?

Three of us have already declared that on this thread and there were just two others - Surprised and Five long bones.

Mystery led the way in the first round of the Javelin, putting Jersey into first place in the event with a fine throw of 72.74m. Surprised was next just over 4m further back and moonlightdribbler is 3rd at this early stage. Five long bones and nigel1305 share 4th place and everyone else got a foul throw.

I would ask the FISOlympic Committee to please consider rectifying the breach of rule 144.5 by persons unknown,which led to the capture of Puffin Island from Wales by the Irish, thereby obliging me to wear an Irish jersey for 31 GW's.

Being a proud Welshman, this has naturally affected me emotionally and therefore my performances have suffered.

Although I'm currently in 5th place overall despite this obvious disadvantage,I would undoubtedly be top but for this error.

bah,a cheap imitation that one is - I bet they haven't even got any real puffins,just plastic ones to fool passing tourists !

Excuse me if I've mentioned this previously but I once tried to land on the original Puffin Island in North Wales in a dinghy belonging to a yacht I was sailing around the island, but didn't make it as it must have been the nesting season (was a long time ago)and my companion and I experienced an attack by seabirds similar to that in Alfred Hitchcock's film, - we were evidently not welcome.

I have no clue how you work out the final tally but I've got 15 points from my forwards this week and no fouls.

With that under my belt, I'll be going for gold with next week's throw and then we've all got to trog round the olympic track for the finale.

It's still looking good for me.

With apologies for the short delay below are the results from the second round.

Blahblah jumped up to 2nd place with a 70.52m but Mystery still remains out front.

In the 3rd round of the javelin, Fivelongbones and GM both got the longest throws with 68.50m, moving into a share of third place for the event, but Mystery has remained out front for Jersey with his first round chuck of 72.74m staying good enough throughout.

Overall, Sunderlandfan's excellent haul of 831pts has extended her overall lead to over 100 points. Nigel1305 remains second and Brightwater has moved into the bronze medal spot.
