GW32 Report

Final: Surprised 11 v Golden Bear 3
The players return with Surprised needing to find form again.
Surprised is looking at a canon chance, he steps up to sink the 3-ball with ease and sends the cue ball onwards to split the 8-ball and 9-ball.
Golden Bear doesn't have a clear pot on his 5-ball so opts to send it around the cushions in an attempt to find the top pocket
Surprised reels away in frustration as the 9-ball rattles both jaws of the corner pocket and then rolls away two inches. That was close, however the 8-ball rolls straight down the opposite corner pocket - not really the bonus he was looking for.
Golden Bear watches the 5-ball settle near the top cushion. A good effort but not really that close.

Referee Report:
Player1: Surprised, score > 3, 3-Ball potted and skill shot awarded
Player2: Golden Bear, score <= 5, 5-Ball missed, no skill shot awarded
Player1: Surprised, score = 11, 8-Ball potted in skill shot (highest unpotted ball below 9-ball)
Player2: Golden Bear, no skill shot

It's all square again in terms of the number of balls potted.

Things couldn't be much closer. This is looking like it's heading for a 9-ball shoot out.

GW33 Report

Final: Surprised 11 v Golden Bear 12
The players return to the tables knowing they can not afford to slip up now.
Surprised fires in his 6-Ball and sends the cue ball crashing into the 7-Ball
Golden Bear responds by neatly potting his 5-ball and splitting the 7-Ball and 9-Ball.
Surprised returns to his seat as the 7-Ball goes all the way around the table and then disappears into the top pocket.
Golden Bear keeps pace by also potting the 7-Ball in the bottom corner.

Referee Report:
Player1: Surprised, score > 6, 6-Ball potted and skill shot awarded
Player2: Golden Bear, score > 5, 5-Ball potted and skill shot awarded
Player1: Surprised, score = 11, 7-Ball potted in skill shot (highest unpotted ball below 9-ball)
Player2: Golden Bear, score = 12, 7-Ball potted in skill shot (highest unpotted ball below 9-ball)

The final has produced some great potting and a few twists and turns along the way but ultimately the game has gone all the way to a 9-ball shoot out. First to pot will win, so Surprised now has the player1 advantage.

GW34 - REMEMBER You need to score 10 or more to pot the 9-ball outright and only one chance each gameweek as its not possible to get a skill shot on the 9-ball, you either pot it or you don't.

9-Ball: Surprised, Golden Bear

Final (Week 7 of 10)

GW34

Final: Surprised 8 v Golden Bear 18
Both players return to the arena with just the 9-ball remaining on their respective tables. Surprised has the advantage of going first.
Surprised approaches the table and attempts a long shot to the bottom right corner pocket but the 9-ball rattles the jaws and then rolls back to the middle of the table. The crowd lets out an audible gasp.
Golden Bear sees a chance of victory and takes his time over his shot before sending the 9-ball down the centre pocket to rapturous applause from the auditorium.

Referee Report:
Player1: Surprised, Score <= 9, 9-Ball missed
Player2: Golden Bear, Score > 9, 9-Ball potted for victory

Congratulations to Golden Bear - FISO FPL 9-Ball Champion 2010.

Well done to both of you for putting on such a closely contested final and to everyone else who took part in the previous rounds.
