You all know the drill by now but the FFPL legal team insist I put up the blurb for each new race...

PLEASE ONLY PICK PLAYERS FOR THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE 24 CONFIRMED ENTRANTS

Player picks are now open for the fifth race weekend. remember that you will be locked in to these picks for both GW9 and GW10 so take that into account when choosing your player.

You are allowed to make one strategy call and one tyre call. The strategy call can be any defender or goalkeeper, and the tyre call can be any midfielder or forward. If there are two or more players with the same surname, please be careful to specify beyond doubt which one you mean. If you tell me Cole, or Taylor, or one of the others with more than one player under that name without specifying which then I will count the lowest scoring eligible player for the qualifying week as your pick for the race weekend.

Please copy and paste the previous picks into your post so that I have one post at the end containing all of the picks for the race weekend.

You can change your picks at any time up to the official FPL deadline (please make a new post copy/pasting all selections and editing yours in that - if you simply edit your initial post after others have copied it I may well miss it), and you are allowed to pick any player whether he is in your FPL team or not, as long as he plays in the correct position.

I'm gonna let someone else get the ball rolling this week because I'm in a massive rush

Abhishekrocked your picks came in nearly 1.5 hours after the deadline and so by the rules I can't take them. Sorry.

I would ask all the other drivers though, the rules I wrote say that the picks don't count at all but given that he didnt pick Newcastle or Everton players and no other team news was known at the time he posted (evidence: he picked De Gea) do you think I should follow the hard line or allow the picks to score for him for the race only? (it is a friendly game after all - we're not playing for money just glory and pit girls :wink: )

Let the picks score for the race only. As you say there is no money to be won or lost but it's your call at the end of the day.

OK, the picks will count for the race only, doesn't feel right ruling them out entirely.

This doesnt mean I'll allow this every time, this was just a borderline case and I don't wanna be so fussy it ruins the fun in this game.

Notes:

Abhishekrocked's picks being late actually made no difference, even if they had counted he would have finished in the same position

Roga not only takes pole but also mullered everyone else on the picks with a massive 26 points thaks to bravely playing an Arsenal defender. bcfc1903, TRSS, Moist von Lipwig, Sir JG and Discogod took joint second all on 18.

None of the 3 players who didn't submit any picks at all have avoided a qualifying penalty in the race.
