May I recommend Endomondo

I had it recommended to me at the start of the week by a mate and having downloaded it to my Android (also available on iDevices), it's the best GPS inspired distance tool thing I have used.

The website is cracking too and keeps track of loads of stats to keep you motivated.

Have a look, see what you think.

App is free (or circa £2.60 for the premium version). But it works perfectly as a free app.

Supposed to be very good. Personally I use a Garmin and Sportstracks, but for those with no dedicated GPS and a smartphone I don't think you can do better.

You getting in shape for the wedding RichT?

That's the aim Si. Seems to be working, but I am not going to get complacent ;-)

I have a Garmin 305 forunner, but it's just a little too chunky. My mate and I refer to ours as "a Brick on a strap".

Been using it now for over a year. Keeps me motivated to cycle to work throughout the summer.

Did have the Nokia version but my brother who is a long distance runner told me to use Endomondo as it is very accurate :)

Only snag I have found so far is the GPS bit, but I think that was more user error as opposed to the app/device itself.

I really like the challenges on the website and that it keeps track of virtually everyhing.

Just had a look at Endomondo - you're right - it does log everything

An update for Galaxy2 users came through last night (maybe all Android handsets)?

But, now when I use the app it says it has "excellent GPS coverage".

Loving the fact that on the website it has a drop down thing on the right hand side which tells you your quickest time for each milestone taking the best time you have ever done.

A really excellent motivational tool.

12.4 miles done tonigiht in 57 minutes. Not bad for a mountain bike (and me). :D
