Last few days this Site is really misbehaving. It hangs for ages, sometimes I just give up on navigating.

Looking at the gaps in posting times that occur during this period, it seems I'm not the only one finding this, just the only one reporting it 8-)

The same problem here.

I've been clicking on a thread and then going off and doing something else for five minutes while it loads. :(

Yup, me too. Was going to start a thread on it. Looks like the database is getting overloaded - maybe searches are causing long pauses?

Thought it was down to advertising but seems more an issue with the database itself, perhaps an archive is overdue as this current one goes back to October 2005!

Our webhosts think fiso's database server was struggling a little and restarting the service just now seems to have cleared the problem. They have run some updates on that server and are monitoring it closely.

Whenever I click on a topic each page takes 5-10 seconds to load due to the (predominantly Nike) adverts at the top of the page.

I know that this is a revenue earner but it's also a complete pain in the arse. Is there any way of switching them off?

Once i am on FISO, i can navigate my way round very quickly, but getting there in the first place takes an eternity. Anyone else having this problem.

I select FISO from my 'favourites', then go off and do something for 5 minutes while i'm waiting for it to connect. Don't have any problems with any other websites.

Am i alone with this frustration??

Same has you Spinynorman, been like it for a while. I often give up, especially the Homepage. Clean my rubbish out every couple of days but makes no differance, was even worse when the footy season was going.

Is this just with the homepage www.fiso.co.uk or other pages as well such as http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/ ? i.e. which page is in your favourites?

I see that some members have said that the homepage is slow but other pages okay. Would be good to establish what exactly is slow and then get BD to sort it out.

The link from my homepage is to www.fiso.co.uk and that is taking ages this evening (just taken about 2 minutes). The forum is working fine though. I'm sure that the fiso homepage was working ok this afternoon.

My bookmarked tab is http://www.fiso.co.uk/index.php

Separately, and I'm not sure which of the threads this is best to go in, I have now got to the stage using google Chrome as I did with Firefox, whereby when I click my bookmark my login details are no longer visible for 1-click login. I have to start typing my username to get my details up. I use Firefox & google's own password system, rather than the "Remember me" box on the site.

I don't have problems and came in with no problems a few minutes ago.

But to help I did a test using....

....and it was taking ages. In fact I gave up.

I usually just use the forum (Latest Topics) and never go to the 'homepage'

Slow in parts today. Some threads open really quickly, other take an eternity.

For example, i'll open a thread, nice and quick, click reply where it takes ages to load up the reply screen, click submit, that will go quick, then it will take another age to get back to the thread :?

Pissin me off

Same here, editing was particularly slow. Was it caused by a surge following FPL reopening or was the traffic not much more than usual?
