Well here we go again, time to get rid of some weight - the 38" waist trousers I was wearing in the Summer no longer fit. Here's how I did last year

AKNel1 wrote:

Well done me 8-)

Thought my start weight would be similar to last year - it isn't

I'm now a mighty 19'6 - 272lbs  (I think that moves me from Linebacker to Defensive Tackle  )

with a BMI of 36.08

So, a 12 week program starts now.

As last year, weigh ins on Mondays.

This year I'm going to break it down into 4 week targets/goals

1st 4 weeks - 14lbs (a Stone)
2nd 4 weeks - 8lbs
3rd 4 weeks - 8lbs
Total loss - 2 Stone 2 lbs - which will get me back to last years 17'4 and a BMI of 32

Really not looking forward to this, motivation at an all time low :|

Good luck to all who enter here....

That's Aknel's diet sorted then.

Me ? 13.08 stones, say 13.1. I should be 11.5 stone so I will be aiming for 12 stone.

No idea what my BMI is. I'm 5ft 11 so must be a table somewhere. Not fat but a spare tyre can go.

I'll start once I've finished these Pringles off :?

PS Aknel a mate of mine has lost 7 stone since the summer  I think he was about 22 stone but shows it can be done. He said he had just cut out the crap and taken up walking. Food for thought (pardon the pun)

My starting weight is 230lb and BMI 31.2

My targets will be:

4 weeks 220lb and BMI 29.8 - 10lbs lost
8 weeks 215lb and BMI 29.2 - 15lbs lost (cumulative)
12 weeks 210lb and BMI 28.5 - 20lbs lost (cumulative)

Seems a bit unrealistic but I may as well give myself a tough challenge. :D

Yep, I'm going to give this another go.

Had managed to keep my weight (just) below 12st but then xmas kicked in...& I'm now back up to 12st 7.75lbs  .

Current Weight  175.75 lbs

Current BMI  28.4

Target Weight  154lbs

Target BMI  24.9

So as I'm hoping to lose 21.75 Ibs in total, I'll aim to lose 2lbs per week which if achieved will mean that I'll reach my target weight by the end of March...

I am 5 feet 10, and after a heavy Christmas have ballooned to 188lbs.

My aim had been to get to 12st 7lbs (175lbs) by March 1st.

However looking at the BMI scales I would still be considered overweight at 12st 7lbs!

I therefore need to aim for 12st 5lbs which I haven't been for a long time!

I would be happy to get to 12 stone 10 realistically, but will try for 12st 5 by end March.

I do a lot of cycling and am aiming to do my first duathlon in April so good incentive to lose as much as I can without losing my muscle strength.

This could be a good one for me, the shame of checking in each week

Starting weight: 16st 6lbs

Target:
1st 4 weeks: 8lbs loss > 15st 12lbs
2nd 4 weeks: 6lbs loss > 15st 6lbs
3rd 4 weeks: 6lb loss > 15 stone dead 8-)

I'm probably 2 stone above ideal, 1.5 above realistic and a stone above short-term goal. That assumes a start of 13.5 stone but I suspect I'm closer to 14 following recent indulgences.

I don't have the chance to use a gym properly so I'm going to invest in a good rowing machine to stick in the garage and chip away whenever I can. Add in some sensible eating & drinking (or lack thereof for the latter!) and I hope to garner some momentum.

Going to talk in basic figures.

16 weeks = til I get married.
Currently weigh (having just stepped on the scales) = 17 st 6lbs 244lbs

Want to get rid of atleast 2 stone by the 21st of April, which isn't impossible by any stretch of the imagination.

This 244lbs isn't the heaviest I have ever been having lost over 5 stone in the past going from 18.7 st  13.10st.

Healthy eating started, exercising by cycling to work each day. With the motivation from Posting here, and the fact that the future Mrs T is also pumped up to lose some weight, it should be a walk in the park......... :D

Good idea starting this again (I think  )

anyway ive put back on what i lost with interest, though having a foot operation which has put me out of action completely for over 2 months + christmas hasnt helped in the slightest

So i'm 213lbs (around 10lb or so above my lowest, without checking in detail), my plan is to try and lose a couple of lbs each week to try and get to an ultimate goal of 189, which is a 24lb loss so should hopefully take around 12 weeks and will put me at 13st 7lb (which would still have my bmi at 26.4 but I would look awful any lighter (I think   )

So roughly

Starting weight - 213lb
1st 4 week target - 205lb
2nd 4 week target - 197lb
3rd 4 week target - 189lb

I just weighed myself and I'm 4lbs heavier than when we started this last year, so I guess I'd better have another go....

Starting at 233lbs and would really like to get to 210, so over twelve weeks that's around 2lbs a week.
I understand AK's comment about motivation though, have zero myself - although we did go out for a longish walk this morning. Hope we can keep it up!

BMI is 30.7 using AK's link, so would be nice to get under 30. If I reach 210lbs it would be 27.7, so that must be my target. :)

Cheers. 25.5 looked quite good until I checked the chart - just overweight for my height

Anyway, time to join the FISO gym - looks pretty "full" this year :P

Ive went from 244 to 213 this year, in and around the 15st mark is as low as I can remember being, and Ive lost it mostly from the belly. I had planned to go to 14st & see how I looked & felt at that weight, but if BMI is anything to go by I need to get to 13st7 to sneak into 'Normal' BMI. Think Id be happy around 14, so Ill set my goal for 13'12 just to give a bit of breathing room.

OK, this is just what i need to help with motivation.
Done ok with last years effort, but since November, ive piled it on, and am now 13st (182 lb) so im even heavier than i was before last years go.
My weight is all on Gut so it must come off easy right???

Targets;
1st 4 weeks -8lb
2nd 4 weeks-8lb
3rd 4weeks- 6lb

That would give me almost a stone and half loss by springtime, and i wont be embarrassed to take my shirt off in garden, and scare the grandkids.

Plan is to walk 2-3 miles a day and try and cut out chocolate, crisps, chips, yada yada yada. Bring it on.

Might as well give this a go too.

I am currently 18 stone 6 pounds. The heaviest I have ever been. Last year at this time I was 18 stone 2. This is 258 pounds.

BMI of 36.0

I am unfit and my 40 inch trousers and 17.5 inch shirts are straining.

Aims -
4 week target 7 pound loss
8 week target 14 pound loss
12 week target 21 pound loss.

I'll have a go at doing this as well.
Will have to post my details now later, no scales here.

But height is 6ft4.

Could I suggest some form a table with a weekly date perhaps Monday where everyone puts down new BMI and week?

If anyone is willing to listen to a bit of advice, having dropped 2 1/2 stone last year, if you want to have any success at weight loss, particularly the larger chaps - you need to regulate your DIET. Diet, diet diet - its all about what you eat. Do not concern yourself with exercise - just do what you can, when you can and consider it a bonus. You will not lose weight if you don't control what you eat.

I remember when I had no idea & knocked my pan in in the gym for an hr, to come out & reward myself with a Goodfellas pizza. Which was like ruining all the good work I had done AND having another dinner.

I'll have a go at this if that's ok. The moobs are becoming problematic when buying new clothes.

Currently heavier than I've ever been at 214lb. BMI is 29 according to link provided.

Beach holiday booked for June 8th and would like to avoid being continually pushed back into the sea when I'm trying to sun bathe.

Target weight is 192lb.

Weeks 1-4 = 10lb
Weeks 5-8 = 6lb
Weeks 9-12 = 6lb

Good luck everyone.

I'll have a go at this - I want to lose about 2 stone I think.

In August this year, I had lost just over 2 stone and had about a stone to go. I then spent three months working away and put at least a stone back on (possibly more!  ).

The battery in my scales has died so I can't weigh in now, but I'll get a replacement tomorrow and find out the damage then. Not looking forward to that at all!

5'9'' and 200 lbs.
BMI 29.2

Want to be 170lbs by end of March.

No alcohol for 30 days from tomorrow and extra careful diet. Get on the treadmill and do at least 10 miles a week plus two circuits, will up the running if results don't fit.

This is great for helping with motivation for getting back to my summer weight after a Nov/Dec of excess.

14st0lbs this morning - 196lbs - around 27.4 BMI I think (6'0")

Target 178lbs - was going to say by 10 March, but happy if I'm somewhere around 13st by then with the last few lbs coming off by the end of March
