Welcome to the first FISO GOALS Ryder cup.

How it will work

Round 1
**Doubles** - Simple enough start. The captain divides his team into 6 pairs. The front 9 is played over set one, and the back 9 over set two, with the combined total for each pair being totted up against their pre-arranged opponent. The winners after the scores are added up, take 1pt for their team. 6pts available

Round 2
**Best Ball** - The captain will again use strategy to conjure up 6 partnerships. The individuals will have their scores totted up over 2 sets, with the best score being used against their pre-arranged opponent. 6pts available

Round 3
**Alternate shot** - The captains chose their final pairings, and select who plays first, and who plays second. This can't be changed, even if the player sitting out the set scores better than his/her partner. The scores from their two designated sets go up against those of pre-arranged opponents, thus giving a two set total. 6pts available

Round 4
**Singles** - Finally, the captains chose their 'order of play' as all the players come up against each other in a single set shoot out. 12pts available.

Total points available - 30
Which means, first team to 15.5pts will be the winners.

Two volunteers for Europe captain so far (pm), but no-one for USA!! Ashers put himself forward, so would anyone from USA like to confirm him as captain, or challenge him maybe??

Looking at those teams I would say that the USA are odds on favourites.

If Ashers has volunteered he get my seconding if he is still interested.

Mine was an 'I'll do it if we are desperate' kind of volunteer so I'll let the other, keener candidate be my boss and tell me what to do.
(I reserve the right to take my ball and clubs home in a huff if I disagree with him)

No we are the American's we don't need 's just the odd we will be walking over your putting line, high fiving and generally whooping it up - with not a hint of the apparent in fighting that appears to be breaking out already in the Euro camp from the above.

This doesn't go well for the tournament. No captain for our side, and the only two people who put their name forward don't really want the pressure.

Pressure?

Being the shy, retiring type I was glad to let someone else grab the limelight and the glory. All bodes well on Planet Europe.

The way i see it is that you two just want to be the first victorious captains in a new FISO goals side game

I hear betfred are already paying out on anyone who backed a USA win, it's such a forgone conclusion

I've just been contacted by UKIP

Apparently they'll back my captaincy campaign and sponsor the team if we agree to kick out the Europeans and taken on the USA as the UK

I am still up for this and will do some planning on the teams.

Welcome Team UK!

Greetings from your Captain. We start off with the Doubles and I need to split you all into partnerships for this. So if you have any established partnerships from FISO Goals Doubles you want to keep or you feel you'll play better with a buddy just let me know. Any "I don't want to play with X because he is a Y" messages are perhaps done by PM.

Spinynorman is currently AWOL due to spine flu. As a decent, caring captain I will be holding his place open for him but if anybody wants to stand in and have the honour of playing for our mighty nation until his return: Please volunteer yourself as a reserve.
