An idea for you all to mull over.

Murphy £2.9m  Oxlaide-Chamberlain £2.6m

either as a straight swap this weekend (no team news avaliable) or on Sunday 26th February (Arsenal team news avaliable) to see if Arsenal remain in the cup.
A very much in-form attacking cup player that's cheaper with a low % ownership.

games till then

Murphy - Stoke (h) , QPR (a)
AOC - Sunderland (a) , Boro/Sunderland (a) (cup)

Makes sense for Cup w/e and get extra game. Mc Clean tomorrow night also worth a mention although we do have good cover there. Oxo seems to have that left side nailed now so looks a good season long bet.

There is no extra game though so it's a straight switch this weekend or wait till the 26th, both players play twice.

How did you finish 3rd hoppy?

If we bring in Oxo for the cup game we lose Fulhams QPR Saturday (25th) game if we were to switch on the 26th.
The cup game is not an extra game in our situation because of the opportunity a week later with the Saturday to Sunday switch.

Actually I am now confused.

New thread? 'when is a bonus game not a bonus game?'

It's an extra game as it's part of a daisy chain plan. 8-)

Ahhhhhhh

I'm wrong

They would have both played 2 games up until the 25th so the Arsenal 26th game would be a bonus game just as they would both have played 1 game this weekend and then Arsenal have the bonus game (as like the 26th) for cup weekend.

So I guess the decision is whether to leave Murphy in v Stoke and switch for cup weekend?

FF has scrambled my brain.

Form is everything and Oxo is hot will be bursting with confidence. I'm all for just doing it sod the extra game. 8-)

So this weekend? Stoke could conceivably give away a penalty against Fulham  while Sunderland frustrate Arsenal at home

I'd propose doing the move next weekend.

Also......

The teams current position in Division 1 is 211th, 343 points. 100th = 352 points. 1st = 391 points.
I'll keep this updated on team updates.

I'm hoping The Ox is a regular now, but I would advise caution as I suspect Arsene will wrap him in cotton wool and he may not start in coming games?

I certainly wouldn't do it this weekend with no team news - sorry to appear negative!

If he starts regularly between now and 26th and is on the teamsheet for 26th, fully back the change!

Slightly off topic this - I'm really struggling with the new bbc fixtures layout!

Yeh the BBC fixtures are a nightmare.

That's the problem ADK, will he play regularly? Surely with Arshavin is a no-brainer but with Gervinho back soon it's likely those 2 will rotate.

Maybe it's best to leave it until the 26th for team news? as throwing him in without it may be a mistake. But he who dares....

Maybe time for a vote?

Murphy - 11/2 Stoke (h) - 18/2 no FA Cup game - 25/2 QPR (a)
Oxlaide-Chamberlain - 11/2 Sunderland (a) - 18/2 Boro/Sunderland (a) - 26/2 Spurs (h)

Murphy  Oxlaide-Chamberlain

1.Saturday 11th - no team news avaliable
2.Saturday 18th (FA Cup weekend) - no team news avaliable
3.Sunday 26th - team news avaliable
4.Don't do it

I'm gonna go with option 2 as I feel Murphy at home to Stoke is the better fixture but tempted by option 1 so a draw in votes may see me change.

1.
2. CT
3. ADK
4.

Chuck, well done for the impressive progress, managing and captaining the FISO team so far. And thanks for the updates!

Does it make much sense to change an enabler around? If I am correct, currently mainly four players are interesting for the position:

Murphy 2.9m penalty taker and guaranteed starter
Pilkington 2.9m guaranteed starter
McLean 2.6m seems a guaranteed starter now with Martin O'Neil
Ox-Ch 2.6m as a young player probably subject to rotation/ part player.

At the same time we can move around Rooney/Aguero to i.e. Suarez/ Lampard/ Gerrard/ etc. for Cup games or easy looking fixtures (2 for 0, 3 for 1) that might promiss a goal feast?

Just food for thought.

Hence my vote would be for option 4, don't do it.

Appreciate the input Lucky as with all the other regulars.

If any others read this today then I'm open to suggestions from your list of 4 (to potentially put in McClean if the majority fancy him).

I guess Oxo's potential rotation is a reason to put us off him but he's arguably the inform player at the moment, Arsene wouldn't dare leave him out the form he is in (abit like RVP).

If anyone wants McClean over Oxo let me know today, 3 regulars agreeing gets him in.

Season-long I prefer Murphy and McClean, but we have got a good coverage with Sess and o'Shea. On the basis of next few games, the OX probably does a better job, and Arsenal will probably also have a longer cup run.

So if you want to get rid of Murphy, my vote goes for the OX.

Like the transfer but not this weekend. Date after that is debatable, depending on form and any knocks or Wenger quotes.

Maybe but-
a) Enrique had a minor injury so might get rested
b) No immediate bonus game anyway as there is no Liverpool league game the next week (Carling Cup)

Or shall we move for a Chelsea player in a 2-0 over Rooney (ManU).

Birmingham (H)
Bolton (H)

AVB needs to get results. Therefore hopefully less risk for rotation.

Lampard would be my choice, but Sturridge, Terry if fit or Drogba would be also worth a gamble.

We'll get Chelsea team news on Saturday so someone that plays against Brum that is also likely to turn up in the league too.

I'm open to the idea. Lamps for me.

I'd 3rd the Fat Frank shout, but if he's not selected by AVB would push for Sturridge.

He's got to put a strong team out the pressure he's under!
