Don't worry, pabzlito, the magnificent achievement of your 4 man team defeating the (temporary) league leaders, the Killer Bees and climbing to 6th place in the league table as a result, had not gone unnoticed by the Red Arrows whom you may find to be a different proposition altogether to the KB's next week ! :D

As a matter of interest, what's happened to your captain, predator_05,who was so keen pre-season,when he set up your team ?

He hasn't made a transfer since GW12,and is still fielding RVP & Ashley Cole ! I hope he's OK ?

Your team's progress in the meantime is evidence of a great team spirit which had already been recorded in the Red Arrows' Forum.

We shall not underestimate you or your teammates, that's for sure ! In fact,we are quite apprehensive, after your demolition of the Killer Bees and I have the misfortune of playing you in the head to head next week(though you only scored 1 pt more than me last week) ! :D

One point is all it takes, Grob!

I have no idea what happened to our captain... our league forum shows very little banter (despite my modest efforts) and my first season in a fiso 5as team may end with my being transferred out, I fear. Still, if I can find a team in warmer climes near a beach it may not be all bad.

Good luck next week! I'm just gonna see how many of your players have double GW's.... oh, 8... not including this week's transfer in.... could be tight! As I said, I think it'll come down to captain choice...............

To save you the trouble, and many sleepless nights perhaps pabzlito, if you look more closely at my team sheet, you'll see that I've made 3 transfers this week, with the result that I've now got 10 doublers available to me ! :D

I don't think I'll need them all though - 7 should be sufficient, with all subs(except GK) having DGW's,should they be called upon :D

Incidentally I see that one of your key players has taken a knock not yet reported in the press,so you'll need to keep a close eye on them all - sorry,as much as I'd like to,I can't tell you who it is,but it would certainly worry me if I had him.

Heheh, I have 9 this week with a DGW... well, more, but I figure Rooney is likely to score more points in his one game than a Wolves defender in two, so he's on the bench, behind two Wigan players who are against Burnley at home.

So do you start on -8 points against me? I assume not. I'm enjoying fighting on a number of fronts which means that I can't take the point hits for multiples...

Just 24 points seperate all five Bad Boys

Sadly, this is not a sign of collective excellence

Correct, transfers don't count in 5AS - you evidently haven't been following this thread every week,or you'd be aware that certain teams(no names,no pack drill but not the Red Arrows) think nothing of taking 20pt hits to win their 5AS battles !

Whilst not taking a 20pt hit that week, I still took a 12 point hit.

As you said, it worked out well and I got more points even after the 12 deducted than I otherwise would have due to the snow cancelations.
And it nicely set up the following GW where I got 176! (Incedently, is this a FISO record for a GW? I'm assuming one of our more experienced members might know).

As you've probably seen me post a few times, I believe large point hits are not always a bad thing if done at the right time. I am hoping that GW31 shows that the 8 point hit I took, followed by a (unexpected) poor score in GW30 was worth it.

Hi there Oatfedgoat, fancy meeting you in here ! :D

I can't think why you thought I might have had the Killer Bees in mind, but now that you've had your porridge and reminded me,I do indeed recall one of your number taking a 20pt - or even 24pt hit one week against the Incredibles :D

As to whether your 176 represented some kind of record,I'm too young to know, but you're rightly proud of it,and I see that your FPL button still links to that achievement.

Sadly even if it was a record it may not last much longer,as GW31 could see it surpassed, although I rather doubt we'll see anyone derive 64 pts from Wayne Rooney against in-form Liverpool this week ! :D

I'm banking on it! ;)
I have the same feeling going in to this upcoming week as I did then... only thing that's different is that was an obvious Rooney(c), this week I am still not sure who I am going with. All I can say is that it won't be Adebeyor or Rodellega again!

Seriously though, with so many players having two games in GW31 it has allowed us to pick the most likely candidates from each team to get high points and build a whole team of them. So for this reason I reckon there will be many scores of 150+, maybe that magic 200. Be nice if it was a FISO'er.

I hope you're not calling us chumps L_C and that was directed at grob - cos they are a bunch of them really

This seasons H2H is turning out to be a truely epic battle ... I really hope it goes down to the final week.

When I noticed that we, The Incredibles, had lost this week quite early on, (well done Dudes), I thought that that would probably be it and the KBs would solidify their lead. But with the KBs losing also and the Arrows catching up a bit it's making for a close run thing.

This is a great comp and I'm really pleased that it's tooth and nail 'til the end. Good luck all ...but I hope we can pull something out in the run-in :)

No doubt before calling us chumps, you double checked the fixture list you drew up to ensure your team would not have to face the fearsome Red Arrows again this season :D

Would be interesting to see how many transfer hits members of the Killer Bees and Red Arrows would be willing to take if it was all to play for going into the final gameweek of the season. Bearing in mind that we face off against each other that week. :D

Hey Mark (of red arrow multiple transfer fame), this one is shaping up to be an interesting gameweek, eh? We're both on the same points, 39, going into the second round of games. Could I manage a victory? It's not impossible... although I'm not sure how today's bonii will affect it... I have 9 yet to play (including captain) and you have 8 (inc cap, and assuming Ivanovic will miss the game against Villa). Tight. I think my original prediction of the captain deciding it may well come true, and I think your Lampard at home trumps my Milner away. I'll be watching with interest!

Good luck.

YOWZA!

Mark,
♪♪♪"Can't I play you every week?"♪♪♪

I would be winning by three, in fact I'm trailing by 8. Great. Still, Grob has 6 players yet to play, I have 9. So there is hope for me yet. How confident you feelin' Grob?

In an unrelated note, my wife won £259 from guessing the right score in the United game in her first EVER footy bet (using a free £25 bet on Betfair). Not bad, you might think... it's just a shame I talked her out of betting on Torres, Rooney and Park scoring the three goals. 'That's ridiculous' I said. 'Stick with the final score, you might actually win that one.' We would be sitting on £12,500 right now. Luckily she's so happy that she now has £250 that she's not asked who scored the goals. Please, please don't tell her. I had to confess to someone, and this is the least likely place she'll look....

Her rationale was that Torres and Rooney always score, and that she loves Park. She can't name a single Bolton player, but I might have to give that a go, yes.

:?

I tried to get her to sign up for FPL, just for giggles, quite glad I didn't now....

Your captain must have heard about your wife's skill at this game, and feared he might be numptified to enable her to take his place in your team,as he is your highest scorer so far this week !

btw pab, I've 8 doublers still to play not 6 - unless Dunne & Ivanovich fail to recover in time. I think you must have been drinking too much of that wine with which you've been celebrating your wife's success ! :D

Hey Grob, well done on your win against me this week... I wonder how the rest of them got on?

I'll be asking my wife who should be my captain next week. When I mentioned I had captained Milner over FFL, DiDi and Ma'loser before kick off today she just rolled her eyes.... I thought I'd get a better return with Villa having two winnable home games, alas..............

You're not the only one! I had Lamps until Saturday morning when I came up with a brilliant theory that Chelsea could well slip up against their away fixtures. At least I had Drogba and Malouda too.

Thanks pabzlito,not a lot in it - if only you'd sought your wife's advice,eh ? We won 4-1 overall I believe.
I can't wait for FPL to complete the updates,as I have to leave very early in the morning for a hospital appointment,so I'll catch up on my return tomorrow night.
