a possible solution could be top 3 (KILLER BEES, DADDIES and DUDES) from last season get seeded into Premier League with all other clubs drawn out of the hat to decide league places with the total entries divided equally into 2 leagues if there are more than 20 entries.
Or a priority for Premiership could go to any unchanged teams from last season :!:
Or all teams put into the hat

I am open to suggestions on this one

Does it really matter for the 5AS League?

By that I mean is there any reason to limit/split around the 20 team figure. As a single league it can probably cope with a few more teams before a limit/split would be needed. It's going to be very dependent on the actual number obviously.

Alternatively (or as well as maybe) - a game similar to reds363's Divisionals - larger number of smaller leagues with reasonably frequent promotions/demotions.

But as you brought up in a later post the H2H is a different ball game - so to speak. As the backroom boy to krispdafunk on this, and in his absense, I think it's fair to say something is probably going to have to be changed with that. (It was fortunate last year that the number of teams increased from 16(?) to 20 and no further - not sure that we'll be that lucky this time?)

I've had some thoughts but wasn't sure where/when they should be posted. Would this be the right place to discuss the 5AS side-side-games ? The current H2H setup starts in GW1 so there isn't a huge amount of time.

I'm loving both of those ideas :) 8-)

Seriously, I'd prefer one big happy league, rather than lots of divisionals.

on the back of the H2H i also admin the H2H individual league, so whatever happens there i will need to mirror it :?

and yes i was also a bit confused :!: it doesn't matter how many teams are entered into the 5 a Side league

absolutely - one of the reasons I posted in this thread - the 5AS is quite an evolved web :o

The 5AS is one of my favourite games - and the added Head-to-Head has really helped it develop into it very own entity. I suspect things will get even more complicated - there's so much potential for other 5AS side-games - that anyone involved in admin-ing any part of it has to consider those others who are also feeding the beast :)

I'm hoping for as little change as possible - but if they need to be done I'd much prefer as much notice as we can get so as to avoid any last minute panic. Andy I do appreciate the amount of work involved and wouldn't wish to spring anything on you

Hi Rob! I have seen UEM declare himself in the "Tell us who you are thread", started by fellow Muvva viddleodge, so we are just missing league admin Wyld, who hasn't posted since April :?

Two more provisional signings for NORDIC UTD (1 going through his medical at the moment & 1 awaiting a work permit), that would take us up to 4. More details TBA soon...

Spied krispy on the Rumble thread - so hopefully he'll make contact soon and discussions on how he sees the H2H working will be forthcoming :D - that's of course if he wants to do it again :?

While waiting for that I have been thinking a bit more on other possibilities - if anyone would be prepared to do the forum admin. A Champs League style 5AS game could work. The format is fairly flexible - it could cope with as many teams as are entered. Scoring could either be as in the H2H or based on team totals. Lots of possiblilities. Anyone see any future in this ?

PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

The SISTAS are delighted to present their new-look line-up for 2008/09.

Following the departures of Flyman, Reg and Scotti82 to newer pastures, the SISTAS committee can now unveil three new summer signings: FingerPass, Monkey Magic and Sarky. These players impressed the SISTAS scouts last season, and subsequently performed outstandingly in their recent rigourous trial periods. The committee are delighted to have secured the signatures of all three players on lucrative 25-year contracts, and have high hopes of success for the upcoming season with them on board.

We can now confirm that all places have now been filled. Following an extensive recruitment campaign within the Nordic regions, we extended our search throughout the entire Earth to bring together those with the right experience and desire to win. Thus it gives me great pleasure to welcome: Not our Donna, Finsimbo, Britinus & Chief Wiggsy. We are looking forward to a long & successful season ahead...

Thanks to all the unsuccessful applicants. In fact we would like to wish all our competitors the best of luck, however you're all gonna lose so I don't think luck is gonna be of any help to you.
