Going to b a tricky one, very few obvious routes except the painfully obvious. Snow may play its part

Made a decent enough start with my team, 69 points, 4 transfers in the first day.
Checked the leaderboard this morning to find I've only just crept into the top 200.
With the facility to check how many transfers others have used, admittedly I've only taken a snapshot of those above me, I'm amazed at the amount of transfers people have used in the first day alone :?

Or am I missing a trick? Is the "catch me if you can" approach the best way to play this game?

Hi Elk, with Blackburn reduced to 10 and Arsenal in full flow, twas always likely so highish scores for anyone who moved them on.
Catch me if you can is definately one way to approach this 30 tran-frenzy. If you do manage a hat-trick which most miss, its hard clawing back and with so few standout fixtures this month, a speculative approach could hit. 4 -10 used seems the norm.

Definitely found having a fast start is must - 30 transfers hard to shift in a short month too .
Plus with Sunderland having an extra game the move from Arsenal to Sunderland was very appealing.

Bang on. Leader already on 117. This has the look of a feeding frenzy. Today tricky.

not sure that will always be true. There are so many opportunities for transfers in this game, which makes all the options complex.
January was defined by the two Dempsey hat tricks and although that pattern could be repeated by RVP , his greater popularity makes it unlikely to have a similar effect.

Don't think I've quite got the hang of this, 99 points and way off the pace!
Hats off to anyone who wins these monthlies, too many transfer opportunities for me (interferes with my drinking times, especially Sundays). I'll plod on and see where my team finishes, I'll class a top 100 place as a victory and accept defeat gracefully. Good luck to you guys with loads of teams, the work you have to put in to be succesfull in this game, you deserve every penny you get out of it. Hopefully I can win a fiver on the way and have another go in March!

You reckon that I just guessed.

Rang the help line and after speaking to someone who wasn't sure of the extra time rules was passed over to the organgrinder who assured me that scoring included extra time but not any shoot out.

Extra time is gonna make the clean sheets a little bit tougher.
