I'm still struggling to watch these in order but I've now watched 5 of the 11. Kudos on the Hotel Rwanda pick - I didn't join her but my wife said it was an awesome, if somewhat difficult to watch, film.

Well, I definitely preferred it to the film(s) you said it was similar to! ;) It wasn't a bad film by any means but I'm afraid I don't quite see why such a large number of people rate it so highly. As an aside, were you confused by the fact that the girl-like vampire who'd lived for 100's of years (presumably) still had a child-like mind?

You'll be disgusted to hear that I rated DOTD ahead of it in terms of the list. Whilst that also wasn't a great film it had more about it than some of its ilk plus lots of the deaths were interesting, a la Final Destination.

I definitely like Fight Club, especially the brilliant first half. Not quite as much as Razor, however.

Friday 23rd July - Thursday 29th July (Sky Movies Premiere)

Observe & Report (Razorsharp)

Considering some of the, shall we say, 'harsh' reviews this movie has received my expectations weren't particularly high but I have to say that I loved, loved, loved this movie :!: 8-) If you're not easily offended then this black comedy is definitely worth your time, if you are easily offended then it's quite possible that this might not be the movie for you   .

Bronson (Razorsharp)

Normally this would be no more than a decent enough biographical drama (at best) but Tom Hardy's superb & mesmerising performance makes this movie very nearly a must see. Recommended 8-) .

In The Electric Mist

This is a decent dramatic thriller IMO & I found myself wishing that Tommy Lee Jones's character in 'No Country For Old Men' had been more like the one he plays in this movie.

Looks funny but there seems to be a lot of Mall Cop in there. In one of the other trailers a car is driven through the main doors just like in the other film. Is this like the less family friendly, more edgy sequel?

I haven't seen 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' but I have seen it described as a 'light hearted comedy' and I know that 'Observe & Report' is worlds apart from that description  . The trailer really doesn't do justice to how f*cked up the central character actually is (he has a bipolar disorder for starters) which subsequently may have a led to a number of negative reviews from people expecting a similar brand of comedy contained in movies like 'Knocked Up' or 'Pineapple Express' (worth noting I'm not the biggest fan of either of those  )...
