The 'pace' of the movie is slightly slower than the trailer suggests but it still lived up to the trailer IMO...

I thought this too but I guess they just wanted to put the network premiere on 'the big day'. I nearly didn't watch that one as I'd assumed I'd already seen it b/c of the scheduling.

When I first found out that 'At World's End' was being shown on Boxing Day I initially thought that I'd overlooked a screening of 'Dead Man's Chest' in the week prior to that. Fortunately it was just a case of p*ss poor scheduling by the beeb 8-) ...

Watched Quantum of Solace during our stay-at-home New Year's Eve last night - thought it was excellent. Minus points were the incomprehensible plot, the relative lack of humour and weak female parts, but the action more than made up for it. Now showing on Sky Premiere.

I agree with most of the above, thought 'Quantum Of Solace' was a very slick action flick (albeit one that has been heavily influenced by another 'secret agent' franchise  ).

I do disagree with your 'weak female parts' comment, although Gemma Arterton came across as a bit of an air-head, I thought Olga Kurylenko put in a very decent performance indeed...
