I've also now watched Jarhead (good film and even my wife liked it which is something for a "war" movie. Made me want to watch The Hurt Locker though) and accidentally watched Analyse That (doesn't really count but was on the laptop as I caught up on FISO the other night). I'm a little worried about Munich as it looks pretty heavy (and long) and now have No Country For Old Men lined up too which I've got higher hopes for.

p.s. have you got a busy week ahead or something? ;)

'No Country For Old Men' is superb and if you haven't watched already then you should put it to the top of your 'to be watched' list. However, there are quite a few people who found the end of the movie to be, shall we say, 'disappointing' & I'm certainly someone who falls into that group. Will be interested to hear what you think when you eventually get around to watching it  ...

p.s l did indeed need to free up time over the last five days so I could concentrate on FF related matters, although after today's results I'm wondering why I bothered  ...

Friday 13th August - Thursday 19th August (Sky Movies Premiere)

The Proposal

I'd heard a lot of good things about this movie (I think BFM's a fan  ) and I'm pleased to report that it didn't disappoint :D . A decent (albeit not quite Razorsharp) romantic comedy that's well worth your time IMO.

Gamer

You know, Jason Statham would have been perfect for this movie 8-) . A decent enough action flavoured sci-fi flick (with a similar(ish) theme to last week's 'Surrogates') which really hits the spot if you're looking for something that enables you to switch your brain off for one hundred or so minutes  .

Friday 20th August - Thursday 26th August (Sky Movies Premiere)

Adventureland

Although not quite as comedic as I hoped it would be, this is still a decent romantic comedy/drama that thankfully manages to (just about) avoid falling into the category of 'chick flick' .

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

I'm actually quite a big fan of Michael Bay's 'brand' of movie making and 'Bad Boys', 'The Rock', 'Armageddon', 'Bad Boys II', 'The Island' & 'Transformers' have all hit the spot to a greater or lesser extent IMO ('Pearl Harbor' is admittedly a bit of stinker  ).

However, I really can't find a way of defending this flick, even with your brain completely switched off & Ms Fox dressed like she's ready to make a move over to the adult entertainment industry, you will not be able to stop yourself from wondering how the hell they got away with spending so much money on what is at the end of the day an incoherent, boring & overlong mess of movie.

Unless you're a card carrying member of the Megan Fox Appreciation Society then this really isn't worth your time (and even if you are it's still, at best, a 50/50 decision  ).

Friday 27th August - Thursday 2nd September (Sky Movies Premiere)

The Final Destination

A run of the mill horror flick which pretty much follows the exact same format of it's three predecessors, only really worth your time if you're in a particularly forgiving mood.

Fame

More of a sequel than an actual remake, this musical flavoured drama is at the very least watchable but due to it's collection of weak characters it is also a very forgettable experience.
