I know there is already a thread on this, but that was for a specific team so didn't want to hijack it...my dilemma is similar - have just clawed my way to top of my SL but now face a number of FA Cup-less players in my team...

My thoughts are -

Reina - keep

Enrique - keep
Walker - keep
Riise - change to Assou-Ekotto (Tott in FA and decent defence record)

Dempsey - keep for now. Not in FA but scoring well in premier so will get points
Silva - keep for now. Not in FA but scoring well in premier so will get points
Bale - keep
Murphy - change to Sessegnon (Sunderland on the up and in the cup)

Aguero - keep for now. Not in FA but scoring ok in premier so will get points
Van Persie - keep
Rooney - change to Adebayor (looks as likely to score as Rooney, Tott in cup and frees up funds for the other 2 trannies)

Make above changes on 6th Feb to get the extra Tottenham game in prem that night...

My thinking is that Dempsey, Aguero, Silva - whilst all out of FA cup are doing too well in prem to risk a transfer on a player who may get rortated and be knocked out in next round anyway

All thoughts, advice, sarky comments welcome!

How many transfers have you got?

I'm not selling Murphy yet as he seems to be in form scoring points (largely penalties admittedly).

The Cup factor and bonus games only kicks in with the round 5 fixtures (bar the Sunderland replay and they would have a hard Rd5 game) so no rush. The nice thing is most Prem teams SHOULD get 2 more Cup games at least as the draw has been favourable.

19 transfers left...15 points clear of the guy in second spot - and a little bird (well, my wife who works in same office as him) tells me he has pretty much blown all his tranfers...

I am tempted to do Rooney  Adebayor tomorrow, given that Rooney "might be back on Sunday".

Never quite sure what to make of Man Utd injury news however!

Might be worth waiting on news of a potential RVP ban (if you also have him)

I wouldn't disagree with you. they may well look at it. However the ref quite clearly saw it and took no action. Therefore I cannot see how they can reverse that decision? If he says he didn't see it, I'd ask him to apply for the Arsenal job.

Did the ref see it?

Didn't see it live...if so then they can't impose a retrospective ban as far as I am aware...

BBC Sport:-
"If it turns out referee Mike Jones witnessed the incident at the time, then no
retrospective action can be taken by the disciplinary authorities.

But if he missed any wrongdoing, the FA could ultimately suspend Van Persie."

Agreed. If the FA start punishing every headed challenge where a player goes up with his arms, there wouldn't be anybody playing!

Just heard on 5Live that no further action to be taken against RVP so he's a definite hold for now (until he gets injured!)
