So I'm sure most people are thinking the same, what to do with their teams after some were knocked out the cup. My team stands as

Reina - ok
Jones - out / injured
Warnock - out
Walker - ok

Dempsey - out
Bale - ok
Mata - ok
Gerrards - ok
Silva - out

Van persie - ok
Augero - out

0.8 mil spare.

So I am a bit stuck, thinking need Chelsea coverage at the back but all expensive, only thing I can see is change Reina to cech and jones to Enrique? Plus not sure how long jones will be out.

Not sure whether to switch anyone else

Only reason as want Chelsea coverage and can't afford a steady defender. So was thinking of changing reina to cech and I can afford Enrique

Dempsey  Cole/Terry would make more sense though I still wouldn't do it.

Terry will prob get a big ban for being a terrible person. Chelsea have now kept 4 clean sheets in a row and some more nice fixtures to come. I still don't want to change my defence yet tho.

Good thread - was about to start one like this myself...(will do that in a different thread so as not to highjack this one  )

I think there are certain players who will justify sticking with even if they are out of the FA cup - you need to balance good form in premier league against the extra games (which could suffer from rotation in a team which is always at risk of getting knocked out in next round)...Demspey, Silva & Aguaro are all worth keeping hold of IMO (I am).

Also, keep on eye on Van Persie - McLeish is calling for a review on the elbow incident in last night's game - potential for a suspension...

What do you think to this:

Reina - ok
Jones - Change to Enrique / Assou Ekotto
Warnock - change to o shea
Walker

Dempsey
Bale -
Mata -
Gerrards
Silva - change to Sessegnon

Van persie
Aguero

This leaves me with 1.5mil spare minimum, or 1.8mil if pick enrique over assou ekotto

I wouldn't sell Silva - even for Sessegnon. May be some logic to it if using the money (Chelsea defender?) but you aren't.

Timing and number of transfers left is key to whether it is all worthwhile.

The first two make sense, but dropping Silva doesn't. Even if Sunderland do go on a Cup run (and Boro away won't be easy, nor will a wounded Arsenal), Silva has some relatively easy games to come and should outscore Sessegnon over the course of the season.

Sorry to 'interrupt', but I want to transfer Warnock out as above. My problem is who to pick out of the three mentioned. Or someone else? I have Friedal, Richards, Walker and Warnock in a 3/5/2. Spare 2M, and happy with rest of team.

Thank you

BAE surely depends on whetehr you want to put all your eggs in the Spurs defence basket - about as dodgy as Arry's tax returns IMO but up to you.

None have great upcoming fixtures (inc Villa) you can switch to Sunderland on saturday or midweek to get a bonus game and Spurs/Liverpool on monday is again a bonus game.

Your call.

Thanks for the prompt reply murf.

Taken on board your advice about defensive eggs in one basket concerning BAE. Will probably go for O'Shea, as I am nine points behind Super League leader who has got Enrique. I hear he's burning transfers fast.

Thanks again murf, good luck in whatever leagues you compete in.

Ta - I only answered because I had been considering Warnock Out (well it appears to be working for QPR...) and this prompted me to review it for myself!

For me, I think it depends on my coverage in specific teams (i've got a few Reinas, Enriques, Walkers etc already). Not sure I fancy Sunderland as they have 2 known tricky ties in the cup to negotiate.
