Agree, in theory having a seeded tournament will only make it harder for someone like Vid :P

For the overall game I reckon keep as it is.

For the cup knockout, how about starting with two groups (top half and bottom half of the table at the time of the draw).... then after a few rounds the survivors of each group eventually meet in the final - a bit like the Paint Pot Trophy where there's a Southern & Northern section.... area semi finals, finals and then the final - one from each section :?:

This isnt the real world where tv viewing figures, or keeping the big clubs rich matters…. this is fantasy football.
A team can be good one week, shite the next.

These are the positions our quarter finalists were in when the group draws was made:-

Sim 1
Jules 10
Ronny 12
Black Dogs 13
Kid Kongo 27
Drawing Dead 38
GaryPeacock 63
Vid 78

I quite like the fact that a couple that were bottom 25% of the table are in the quarter finals.
A couple more from mid table too.

Thats the beauty of the cup!

I don't really minded whether C/L seeded or not Zimm,it's just maybe something to make a little more of a talking point (i.e 4th seed beating a 1st seed etc),I think it's all been done very well this year, except my team has never been high enough this time

There's no way I'd still be in if there'd been seedings, so I'd be happy for next year to be the same.
Just imagine how lame the FA cup would be with seedings!

ok how about running 2 then -

tradition sun elite league £10 entry - one team and go by the sun rules.
CL as a part of this

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

new styleeee elite comp, £10 entry, 1 team - 2 players max per club and 9 transfers to be used throughout the season. But must be submitted by the start of the gameweek.

I've enjoyed it, leave it as it is.
As for having better performing teams elswhere, well out of the 4, I entered into the main game my elite team is doing the best.
I'd be 2nd in my local pub league with this team.

maybe a max of 2 teams.

Charlie Adam hat trick next weekend and I'm back

Well ultimately, next season we will still have the Elite. Format is exactly the same, no change from this year.

There will also be a new side game called ????????
But for clarity and not to confuse or dissuade others from playing, it should have a totally different name IMO.

Either put it to the vote, or maybe whoever ends up running it would like to name it, or maybe the Elite runner up has the honour of naming it?
Whatever.

Personally I'd avoid any hilarious play on words.

Well I'm happy to carry on with the "original SDT elite league"

I won't be able to administrate the "new future of dreamteam elite league" would it be best for someone like JPK to run it? I don't mind holding the cash but as my computer skills aren't as good the transfers etc etc will be too much for me

what about them for names then

original SDT elite league
new future of SDT elite league

I am happy to run it (side comp) if there is a real demand for it. Probably could do with someone else to be the cheerleader to drum up support for it though

It looks like this has already been decided but I still want to express my opinion because I want to enter the Elite league next season. I have really missed it this season.

I agree with the people saying the original competition should be the same as it has always been.

Anyone wanting things to be different create a new competition with a new name and new rules - surely there is plenty of room for both.

In conclusion: Still call it the Elite league and keep the rules the same or don't bother.

just a quick bump......elite league will be exactly the same as this year

one team per person ( no using your cat as another manager )
£10 a team

I can't wait for next season, I'll try and enter a decent team into this next time
