Well, congratulations to all of you who have won an egg cup this season. In particular very well done to Rust who was 269th overall. I will be in touch with you all shortly to arrange delivery of your prizes.

Sadly I have to announce that this will be the last year of the egg cup. I have been becoming more and more disappointed in the Telegraph game and its website for the past couple of years and have decided that enough is enough. I have also lost interest in TFF generally which is illustrated by the amount of transfers that I have left in most of my teams.

The other factor which precipitates this decision is that I just can no longer devote the time to all the organising of the egg cup competition. I am getting married later this year and have greater priorities on my plate.

I would like to thank all of you who have taken part over the past 6 years and hope that you have all enjoyed the banter and competition. Special thanks go to murf, BFM & Chief Wiggsy who, along with me, were the original eggcuppers.

It's better to quit while we're ahead I think.

Many thanks for all of the enjoyement of the eggcup competition. I can't imagine the amount of hours that go into it.

For 6 years the Eggcup has been the best superleague out there (even in the 3 years I didn't win it ). My 3 Eggcups sit very proudly on the cabinet next to my computer.

Same here - this is the only league I've enjoyed this year, mostly because I've been even more cr@p in the others I'll admit, but also due to the basic concept, the friendly banter and of course the lovely Egg Cups!

Sorry to see you moving on from this comp Lip - it really is the best one for me (despite my failure this season) - but congrats on the forthcoming happy event!

I'll put my hand up now and say i would be delighted to take this over if no-one better came along (that shouldn't be hard tho!)

the only prob with someone else takig over this game is getting the supply of the egg cups, as i'm sure thelip had a local charity as provider to create them.
