Well where do you start, from the initial XI this weekend 9 could be missing - 4 Man U defenders / GK, play in the Super Cup, Hutton, Cahill & Gerrard are all injured Camara cannot get a game at Wigan and Bullard misses a game due to United's Super Cup game.

That leaves Torres & Modric

So what are you going to do, be patient and save your transfers for later perhaps making 1 or 2 or are you going to make wholesale changes and hope the injury curse avoids your new players.

I reluctantly plumped for the latter, but this is probably going to be one of the most critical decisions of the Egg Cup / Beer Keg season. It could also see a real split in the League tables as the gambling rabbits race away from the cautious Tortoise huggers.

So, what are you going to do...

I don't think anyone has matched my 7  transfers yet

At least I have a team that I'm 90% happy with.

The next critical point for me will be the Ronaldo conundrum. When to get him in & how many transfers it'll cost me :?

I can't believe this. That thread title insinuates the Beerkeg is a similar game to the Eggcup.

Jonathan - Not bad, hovers the club at the start = less chance of starting 100% square to the ball unless very good control. I'd say pushes quite a few. (not slices, pushes. Would be better is we had the swing from behind)

TFG (AKNEL) - Big left to right player, you come from the outside on the downswing and cut right across the ball, however if you play for what i would say a controlled slice you can play effectively. 90% time slice = less distance. Bet every so often you turn the right hand over and pull it.

Keith - A bit to ridgid over the ball, I'd say pulls out quite a few duck hooks with that technique. Again would need to see from behind.

I've been pretty startled by the early season transfer activity in the Egg Cup. I'm doing 2 transfers and it might have been none had Stevie not been injured. Then again I had ditched the other injured players already and I'm optimistic Camara will set foot on grass at some stage during this weekend's game.

Having no weekly limit on transfers makes things quite different to previous seasons & I think seeing other players making 5/6 changes does then encourage you to make a similar number of changes yourself...

I'm sure you were the front runner in this.

I'll be making at least 4, maybe 5 tomorrow which I've posted my 4 already on the beerkeg thread.

Hansen's team is mega shit.

Thats a pretty good analysis, hadn't noticed the out to in - always thought it was in to in. Definitely right about the occasional pull (like my love life in years gone by  ). Will have another look at it later. Also not happy with my grip in particular the right hand.

Thanks for taking the time 8-)

Well, this is probably the most interesting eggcup so far with anything from 18 to 29 transfers remaining. The initial team has proved to be a reasonable points scorer despite early FISOers reservations. Most have now made their Ronaldo gambit - some choosing to go without.

I would imagine we are now going to go through a fairly settled stage with the majority of transfers due to injuries, the tortoise huggers may get the option to gamble on the occasional 2 for 1 but the next critical stage must be January when the FA Cup starts.

So are you happy enough with your start, what about your current team, have you got a clear strategy or are you just winging it.

fwiw, my team has 279 points but at the cost of 12 transfers. I'm very happy with 9 of my 11 players and have shooed in CR7, Torres, Defoe, SWP, & 3/5 of a Chelsea block. This sees me currently atop Div. 3 and the 3rd highest eggcup scoring team (haven't compared with Beerkeg yet).

Amazingly Hansen is occupying a promotion position in Div 1 or Div 2 can't remember which and the leading scorers have 298 and 296 points each (Razorback & Groomyd)

Anyone in all 6 divisions got a single player for tonight??

My finger is dangling in front of the confirm button, but not sure if its worth the risk.
