I'm in wildcard mode (yeah, I know I've posted way too many topics this week...my apologies to all) and am trying to tweak this team:

GK: Green [Gordon]
D: Lescott, Carvalho, Distin, Laursen [McEveley]
M: Fabregas, Lampard, Elano, Cahill [De Ridder]
S: Drogba, Agbonlahor [Cole]

I might blow it up and go with:

GK: Green [Gordon]
D: Neville, Carvalho, Clichy, Laursen [McEveley]
M: Fabregas, Lampard, Ronaldo, Petrov [De Ridder]
S: Tevez, Agbonlahor [Cole]

With the second squad I get three top-4 defenders (Clichy & Laursen with a double gw). I could have this defence in either squad, regardless...so the question is - which combo is better?

Option A. Only because Petrov is under an injury cloud.

I reckon Fake and Petrov....there is NO DOUBT that ronnie will start racking up the points soon. Every1 seems to have forgotten his performance in the champs league! His goal target this season is 23 - he knows he's gona have to make up some ground to reach that and i reckon he will up his game.....anyway - every1 knows that FAKE lights up his tinsle twinkle toes over the xmas period!!!

As for elano/petrov....elano has started remarkably well this season. I've had Petrov since day 1 and still believe that he will be right up there (points qise) if not abov elano by the end of the season. Petrov's ability has been proven throught past season's and his form this season has been good - IMHO he will be in the big points very very soon - 2 goals and 1 assist this w/e city to win 3-1 ;)

Wishful thinking

I'd be happy with a goal or 2 assists.

Even though I od not get the Gabby obsession on here, I would go B.

But is Neville, fit? I assume it is G not P, as you mention 3 top 4 defenders.

option B.

i hate spending money on top strikers such as Rooney/Drogba.
midfielders are better value, and offer a better line of consistency.

He was 6th in the top points scorers list for strikers last year and 1st for VFM.

With his current fixture set he should be, and has been, a consistent points scorer for the next month.
