So with the first Double Gameweek {DGW} just around the corner, it'd be good to know what everyone has planned. I'm guessing Bale, Drenthe, Adebayor, and Baines are in a few squads already.

I will have those once I bring Bale in, plus Van der Vaart, and not 100% certain with him - but when is anyone? This does mean I would have Tottenham defensive coverage. Unless I lose the Dutchman of course, or don't buy Bale, but to be honest right now the midfielders seem more essential than the defenders. This will of course mean I will be hoping for a shed load of goals from the London side.

As for Everton, they are not exactly lighting the Premier League up in flames. But we are aware of their second half of the season revival, not to mention the arrival of Donovan, which could be just what they need. Those doubting Baines, like myself, will be more encouraged by the fact Everton still win penalties from time to time. Also considering Osman.

What will you do? Get the full quota of 6? Ignore it altogether? Stock up on Tottenham but forget about Everton? Defensive blocks? Will you use the wildcard to eject them all? Are you considering the fixtures before and after?

Here are the upcoming fixtures {next gameweek, double gameweek, and following gameweek}

EVERTON

GW19: 01 Jan West Brom {a}

GW20: 04 Jan Bolton {h}
GW20: 11 Jan Tottenham {a}

GW21: 14 Jan Villa {a}

TOTTENHAM

GW19: 31 Dec Swansea {a}

GW20: 03 Jan West Brom {h}
GW20: 11 Jan Everton {h}

GW21: 14 Jan Wolves {h}

This looks like a good opportunity as the fixtures remain good for both throughout the WC window, allowing the opportunity to jettison them in late January at the end of the transfer window wildcard... I have Bale & Ade and plan to add BAE, Baines, Osman & maybe Donovan (If he's a midfielder and added to the game in time for the DGW)

Have: Bale/Ade, Jags/Drenthe
Pondering: VDV/Walker, Donovan/Osman/Baines

I'm quite tempted by Osman and VDV (he's a dangerous person not to have if he sparks again suddenly) but I'm probably not going to fully loaded for the week. Only Spurs are really worth distorting a team for, with their three home games in a row, while Everton have four away games in five, negating the benefit of bringing in unnecessary players unless you can do it with spare transfers.

Have Ade Bale and Baines

Have 2 free ones, wich allowes me to have 6 everton/totenham players for dgw 20 if i want.

Pondering on getting in Drenthe, Donovan (if dirt cheap forward or midfielder), BAE, Walker, Hibbert

Regarding Osman. I think Donovan will play most games, and im afraid Osman's gametime will get decreased as they play in similar position (+ Cahill). Im no Everton expert though

Plan at the moment is going in with:

Ade
VDV
BAE

but not having Bale is worrying me so could go:

Ade
Bale

or +BAE(-4)

Opinions?

I'm already blessed with Bale, Walker, Drenthe and Baines and will get Adebayor in one direct swap as getting VDV would mess up my team. Enfin, 5 DGW players.

Right now I have Adebayor, Bale, Drenthe and Baines, not doing a transfer this week so that next week I can do Nani and Evans to VDV and Jagielka.

Really going for the full quota, I'm 5th in my main league, those above me just have Bale and Adebayor, I'm not having this lack of interest in Everton, they have a home fixture against rubbish Bolton, you would hope to get your points there with anything at Spurs being a bonus, Everton usually do ok against Spurs so its worth investing when you consider you have a WC to bail you out, I don't even think I would need to as I will just turn Baines into Jones and keep the other two as they are not exactly expensive.

Not sure when you are planning your WC, but you are aware that Nani will eat Bolton for breakfast after Everton is done with them yeah?

Is there any chance Donovan arriving can influence Drenthe's playing time?

Comments like this are no good to anyone, I'm guessing you thought Nani would eat Wigan up for lunch or dinner or maybe supper????

You make a choice, you take that risk.

I'm not being ingrateful but don't you think I may have thought of that?

No player in any game is a given, I have Rooney, I will risk not having Nani for Bolton.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other.

I have Nani, and he is much easier to sell I find that, say, Silva or Van Persie. He is certainly going to return a few 3 pointers. If that. I may get rid, regardless of opponent, to accommodate Bale. But I'll probably bring him back. Besides, he doesn't play for either Everton or Tottenham.

The deciding factor on the Donovan will be his classification, and who's position he jeopardises. If he is a striker I would not remove Adebayor, Van Persie or Sturridge for him. And I am not getting a second Everton defender that's for sure.

Of course you have, knowing you ;) But yeah, it might have been enlightening for others then. Hope your Jagielka choice pays off 8-) I would love VDV in my team as well, also cause I am beginning to think that Arry has some placentas lying around there in close range (Adebayor seemed to be bothered with his hammy but had no problems a minute later and VDV is recovering so fast everytime as well).

And Robin, I don't think Drenthe has to suffer from Donovan's arrival. Drenthe on the right wing, Donovan on the left wing (resulting in :arrow: Osman or Gueye, whoever Moyes favors more then) or as supportive striker (resulting in :arrow: Cahill).

It was incoming left as I remember last time, and if Cahill wins his place back behind the striker then it could be Osman to make way. But you never know.

FS Record: FPL a work in progress, got over 2,000 pts last season, usually do a bit better in FISO IKTS league 2nd, 8th, 15th last 3yrs.
Going for 6, currently have Jagielka, Hibbert, Drenthe, Bale and Adebayor, will somehow bring VDV back in before the off (transferred him out for Nani in brief moment of madness last week).

Definitely think this DGW may be overrated. No Everton players for me.

Have Adebayor but will probably look to get Bale or BAE in next week.

VDV's ownership is now low enough to make him a differential and if he scores well it will really pay off. On the same basis, you are in trouble if Bale has a good gameweek..

If you fancy a gamble, stick with VDV and lose him with the January wildcard.

Bale's price seems to be rising, although it could have now hit maturity. You could get him in before any further price rises and if he does rise you'll have more money to play with in January.

Is it mad to go without Adebayor?

Defoe and Pav are not really worthy alternatives (in the same way that VDV and Bale are)

I've planned a restructure to bring him in - but does anyone think it's safe to go without?

Not convinced that DGW's are overrated.

On its own, Everton VS Bolton has great "potential" for a cleansheet and some attacking returns despite Evertons lack of goals this season. Spurs are in great form and have a very favourable home fixture.

Spurs VS Everton is the "bonus"....its an opportunity for over half of your starting 11 to play twice.

Add to this both Spurs and Everton have 2 out of 3 decent fixtures leading upto GW23 when you can WC.

I've gone for BAE, Bale and Adebayor

I've only put Spurs players in because I think they'll gain the most out of the DGW
