Tennant was plugging it (with a clip of dodgy looking monsters) on Graham Norton's show last night - bound to be repeats.

Got this one and a 2-parter over xmas then no more McWho

New series of Hustle tonight 9pm on BBC 1/HD

Clashes nicely with start of an Above Suspicion 3-parter on ITV which is sort of a return.

Not exactly 'cult' telly like much of the stuff here but good for mainstream telly. Last series of Lost soon isn't it?

It must be soon as they've been sort of advertising it on Sky.

At long last, Heroes Season 4 makes an appearance tonight BBC2 10:10pm with a double episode. Next episode being shown tomorrow on BBC3.

No need to worry about missing Match of the Day, as there won't be any football to see.

I'm amazed they haven't hyped this more. Makes me wonder if it's a bit of a let-down...

New series of Being Human starts tomorrow at 9.30pm on BBC3.

Series 3 was really poor so I have decided to give it up. Even if the first episode is good I'm sure it will go downhill. It needs 'focus' and the themes of the 2nd and 3rd series just wren't up to much.

Lost's ideas/themes/plots have been weird of late but have worked and they have the focus of wrapping it up at the end of the upcoming series.

I watched the first (& second) episode of season 4 last night and, while its production values seem to have been maintained, it's a busted flush of a series. I couldn't care less about any of the characters any more... well maybe Claire but all the others are just tedious. Should have given up in season 3 to be honest.

Survivors returns for series 2 on BBC 1 tonight at 9pm.

I watched the last series but they were really dragging things out by the end. I think I'll wait for some reviews before spending time on it.

I'm loving the new series of Desperate Housewives - laugh-out loud funny. Americans do comedy so much better than we do. Its basically a soap opera, but with a clever, witty script and hilarious set-pieces. The David Lynch-like surrealism of the first series has gone, but it's still worth watching. In fact apart from football and the occasional film, it's about the only thing I do watch on TV - bet there aren't many people who could say that!

This could be a busy thread for the next couple of weeks as some big shows return.

It's not exactly a big show but The Mentalist returns to 5ive at 9 on Friday.

I'm confused. I recorded the last episode (the first one) but it wouldn't let me series link it so I set a reminder for this week. Now looking at tvguide.co.uk it's episode 1 that was just on. :? Was it also on last week?

Yes. I think I must have recorded a catch-up episode from last season...oh well, there are plenty of replays this week. :)

A few Sky 1 programmes which have had a mid series break are returning this week:

House tonight 10pm

Fringe Tuesday 10pm although there was a new one shown last week it must have been one they had missed out as it contained somebody who died in an earlier episode.

Bones & Cold Case both return on Thursday night 10 & 11 pm.

Suddenly I'm going to have to keep an eye on how much recording space I have left on my hard drive  .

Looks OK in the trailers, tbh.

About effin time. It's been a 3 month gap and I've almost forgotten the first 10 or so that were broadcast. Any clues on why Sky have started doing this?

It confused the hell out of me when checking tvguide.co.uk for an alternative time to record this new "series". I don't remember it ending half way through. Are the breaks enforced by the US? They tend to pause shows mid-season for various reasons (Superbowl, Thanksgiving, national holidays, etc.) and we wouldn't be allowed to show episodes before them.

It's not as bad as Bones though; they stick the episodes on in the wrong order so dead/left/new characters just appear all over the place. Luckily it's not the sort of show that has a particularly important time-line.

House had a 6 week gap in the US between Nov 30 and Jan 11, then another month's gap in Feb. They've just shown episode 15 over there and 11 over here so that would be about right, Sky had one big gap rather than 2 separate ones.

Still annoying. I preferred it when they delayed the start and just showed it week after week.
