New season of Two and a Half Men started on Monday night (9pm) on the newly named Comedy Central (formally Paramount Comedy Channel) repeated 9pm Wednesday (or 10pm on CC+ if you want to watch the footy). It's also available on Sky Anytime at the moment. Two episodes of The Sarah Silverman Program are also on Sky Anytime already, 2nd season of that one officially starts on the same channel Friday night.

Just seen a trailer for Series 2 of Ashes to Ashes. Only says 'coming soon', so I don't know when it's actually back.

Yes, don't forget the new Red Dwarf is on 'Dave' rather then BBC. I'm presuming Dave paid for it.

Later with Jools Holland was back last night with the live version (still called 'live' when showing later on BBC HD  ), not sure when/if the non-live version goes out this season.

Only caught a few minutes last night but it was amazing to see The Specials (mostly) back together and enjoying themselves playing Gangsters (obvious exception the straight faced Terry Hall who could have been at a funeral). Look forward to seeing it properly on Sky+ some time soon.

Franz Ferdinand and Carole King were also on, probably others too.

I got all excited for a second there and then I remembered that FX gets the show a few months after Showtime...bah

Pretty good last night I thought. Could have worried it would go downhill as last series was a bit overplayed at times but that'll do for me.

I enjoyed it, and will still carry on watching it, but it lacks the same sort of suspence as 'Life on Mars'. At the end of an episode of 'Life on Mars', I found myself desperately wanting to see the next episode, whereas with 'Ashes to Ashes' there isn't quite the same feeling of wanting to know what happens next.

(Maybe it's because I like the 70's music better than the 80's)

I think I'd rather they ditched all that weird 'is she going back' stuff and just concentrated on the cop show with the fish out of water modern woman in the 80s. It worked with Sam but now they don't know how to rehash it.

Not convinced either way on KH's new haircut but I'll let you make your own mind up.....

I know what you mean but I just think that it'd be too dull if it was just a retro cop show. There's nothing too exciting about that and I think it gives an edge. Admitedly I wasn't sure how/whether they'd keep it going this season but I don't think the fish out of water idea would work very well without the reminders.

No, I preferred her 70s hair too. Strangely Gene doesn't seem to have changed at all...

I dont think they should scrap it, just seemed to me with Drake it was a hell of a lot more compared to Tyler. And the clown/dad gave me the creeps  , now we know who he is doubt he'll be in this series will he?

The Gene Genie probably hasnt changed much cos its only a year later...

Quality program, absolutely loved Life on Mars. This is the same as most sequels or spin offs in that it lacks the initial originality that the first show had, but there's not much that can be done about that. It's still brilliant, mainly due to Gene Hunt, what a legend. :D

Plus the added eye candy is always a welcome bonus.

House returns to Sky One on, I think, the 31st of May. Great show, shame about the accent.

It's not that his accent is bad it's just a shame that he felt (or the producers felt) that he couldn't play the role without it.

Did you see her in Tipping the Velvet? Bloody hell. I had to watch that with the curtains drawn.

The third year of Mad Men begins over here in a week or so. It's not up with The Sopranos or The Wire but is probably the best currently running series in the U.S. It's set in the Kennedy era days when glossy advertising and Madison Avenue really exploded. Is it even available in the UK?

Hell yeah! :P One of the best shows on TV and it's fair to say that I'm surprised that it's still going (given the US TV consumers' distaste for intelligent TV). Better than the Sopranos (I don't "do" gangster) but I still haven't seen the Wire (too much current TV to catch up on). I'll look out for MM when it returns to the UK.

Not exactly the 'return of' but casual fans would be well advised to watch this Sunday's episode. Should be a pivotal one for the future of the show.
