Does anyone know any decent OFL forums? This one is getting beyond awful!

Not only does no one post during the season, no one even posts BEFORE the season any more (usually the busiest time for any FF forum).

Those playing the Sun, Telegraph or PL games are having tons and discussions, tips, votes and banter

Not having a go at the people that are posting and taking time and effort here, just wondering if there's a lively fun OFL forum I'm missing out on.

This is positively bustling compared to previous seasons, as far as I remember :D

Don't mean to be picky BB but 204 posts in 4 years isn't exactly brimming with posts either.
But I take your point, OFL has never exactly been a very chatty forum, not sure why except that far less people play this one as against TTF and EPL.

I'm still here Beast :o

Will be more of a participant this season...

I needed two years to recover from my "championship" winning season...

The anxiety towards the end put me into semi-retirement.

Welcome back Kdub! Don't forget to RMT ;o)

Britinus - very fair point mate and made me laugh. Thing is any more than 204 posts and I'd have been talking to myself!

I think its a fair gripe at this site...we dont talk as much as we should....after playing this game now for 8yrs or so Ive seen most of your names around leagues in Classic and most are good dedicated players...so I think the problem is none of us want to give away any choice insights on what we are thinking

Absolutely right in the points made. I would like to see more activity, but how do you talk about things without giving the game away?
I really like this game as a replacement for TFFO, enjoy most things about it, but my secrets are MINE
I'll tell you all about it when the seasons over :P

I am surprised though, that peeps don't ask questions! It took me last season to find my way around, groping in the dark, but I suppose that's how it's done?

All forums are require a degree of give and take, it only takes one person to start to give thoughts to start a discussion where others may join in and from there who knows where it may progress. Anyone complaining about others not giving should consider their own involvement first.

I haven't done anything but enter a token team or two each season since the rules were changed specifically to prevent bal (still about?), MGC (ID probably wiped due to him not posting for many years), myself and one other (very sorry, I've forgotten your name but possibly you never signed up to FISO in the first place) from cleaning up in the monthlies when they were worth winning.

There's a bit more life here now only due to ISO moving in, if TFFO returned to life then even that little bit of life would be immediately extinguished.

OFL may well have been an easy to follow and manage game years ago but time and technology has moved on, it's a pretty poor game by comparison to just about everything else out there - incredibly expensive to play but simplistic in the extreme. Excellent web site but player pricing and points scoring are 20 years out of date.

OFL is the best game in my opinion.

You should get yourself on keele's superleague next year if there's a space. We talk all the time on that, there are pages after pages of chat going on there.

You cant keep up with it sometimes...

I will win the league though Keele Im sure will agree his strategy this year is flawed and mine is superior ;-)

In answer to Vids point...sorry Im sort of glad they changed the rules because you are right most months it was impossible to win anything because you were up against people that wernt "Really"playing for the year so didnt care that their team didnt do anything other than that 1 month...most of those people also didnt talk and get involved... so with "dead teams" the league positions came somewhat of a joke.
The game isnt that hard to play, true but if if gets too complicated alot of people would drop out for lack of time...I also dont think its out of date with charging what they do,very good value for what you get I think...And Thankyou to the Good Shepherd for noticing I try and run or join leagues that talk....have to admit most of the people that Ive got to "meet"so far over 8yrs have been pretty damn fine....and yes Im enjoying the ISO League...not sure to post on here or on the League site......where few talk....

Can't agree with any of that, Vid, and it certainly isn't a poor game

I'd still like a separate game format in which you picked a starting XI for the whole weekend/gameweek, other than that the simple (and transparent) scoring system is what makes it so appealling.

It only needs one person with a different viewpoint to express it :D

that is true but then the point of view has to be interesting as well...dont think youd get much response here by saying Footballers should wear bikini briefs over Y Fronts under their shorts

I can never really accept that a fringe/ regularly rotated player at a big club should be priced so closely to starters.

Anyone remember when Le Tallec (or was it Cheyrue?) joined Liverpool and was instantly installed as the highest priced midfielder at 4.6m?

It's taken them many, many years to drop the prices of defensive midfielders, they used to be as expensive as the AM at the same club.

Very lazy pricing.

Goalkeepers across the board score so lowly apart from the 3 or 4 most expensive (and of course they all won't score well over a season) that you might as well take a punt on the cheapest non-playing keeper in the list and try to use the extra 1m+ up front chasing the assists/ goals.
