I was just browsing the FPL forum and noticed that quite a few people use the button to link to their team whilst some don't... and then some use it to link to something completely irrelevant to the game itself.

So I'm wondering... do you avoid using the button to keep your team secret or do you just not know how to set it up?
There's no point keeping it secret from league rivals on here because they can see your team anyway via the FPL website.

The way to set it up is through your User Control Panel - Just paste the url from your Team History page on FPL.

I would say to the people that use it for a link that doesn't show their team...Why? Just use the www button!!!

I should change my fpl link off of my www link, but its a habit from last year when there was no fpl link, and I havn't got round to it yet.

It is annoying though when someone says something about there team/transfers/score/plans etc, so you click their link thinking you'll be educated by their combined wisdom and team, only to be confronted by some crap american spouting soft rock on youtube.

www or fpl, I don't mind - what I don't like is people giving advice or making comments without linking to their team. This should be a prerequisite.

I'd go for this, but how do you ensure the team someone is posting to is theirs?

I think that the issue with some people is privacy, they don't want other FISOers of league rivals to start poking them on facebook. :P

I removed mine when I was top 50 this season after a top 100 finish last season.

The reason was so that people didn't lend any weight to my opinions solely on the basis of my overall position. At the end of the day, a well thought out opinion is well worth listening to regardless of the placing of the poster and I'm not a fan of the current trend of posters saying "well, I'm placed higher than you so what do you know?".

Lol I was wondering the same, I think a couple of months back I posted the same question, as some people were using the FPL link as a video on YT or something.

Very good...
 When I clicked on the link at work it couldn't display the page so I assumed that it was a faked link. Now that I'm at home I can see that it's not so I retract my earlier comment!

No, neither am I but I'd rather take the advice, on my own judgement, of someone who shows a consistent high placing as they obviously know what they're doing. At least you're in the main FISO league so I can find you.

I've not been on FISO much this season and didn't even realise there was an FPL button.
All set up now then with the WWW and FPL buttons both going to my rubbish team.

I've shown mine since I joined, but since my ranking started off so poorly I don't think anyone would have taken my advice on anything.

I think people should have an FPL link. Your rank does shows how much knowledge you have on fantasy. But as stated above, there are loop holes; this can be avoided if FISO team up with FPL ;) *hint* *hint*
