Dear FISOers,
It's the original and best tiered promotion-and-relegation game based on FPL that the internet has to offer: The Divisional Championships are back, hooray!
I'll be honest, I wasn't completely sure I would run this again this year for a couple of reasons, but the recent flood of PMs of interest

as well as the astonishing support I've had on the 'best FISO side-game' thread

has eventually made up my mind to continue for 2009-10!
Exact details will be released later but there will be very little change to last year's game (the thread for which can be seen
here)
In summary, all entrants are split into divisions which compete over 5 gameweeks. The highest scoring teams in each division over those 5 weeks get promoted, the lowest get relegated, and we then begin again for a new 5 week period. There are 7 of these periods over the season. The ultimate goal is to gain promotion to the Premier Division and earn the title of Prem Champion!
As ever the game will start in GW4, to allow seven five-week periods to run up until GW38. Thus the game will begin on August 29, and the starting divisions will be determined in the week prior to that, so the
deadline for signing up is Sunday 23 August.
If you want to play you must sign up. Please do this simply by replying in the thread below. Please make sure your team link is either in the 'FPL' box in your profile, or you have correctly linked to it on the FISO join-up thread for this season (
here). Thanks!
The reason I ask for people to sign up again each new season is to get rid of people who've drifted away from FISO, keeping numbers down and interest up. I realise last year that a few people missed the start of the new season by not realising they had to re-enter, so this year I will PM to alert/check with anyone who played in 08-09 but has not signed up, about a week before the deadline. (PS I hope this won't apply to many/any, but if anyone knows anyone who is away from now until later than the 23rd who will likely want to play then please let me know!)As before, the starting divisions for the first period will broadly be determined from the final positions from 08-09. However, any gaps left by players not returning will be up for grabs in a seeding system based on (a) last year's performance (overall and in this game) and (b) scores in GWs 1-3 this year.
Please sign up by copying the existing list and adding your name to the end of it:
