Adebayor ahead of Bale - just feel like he's more "due"

Adebayor to be safe or VDV if I feel brave.

Friedel is the smart choice here.

He will 99% definitely play both games without picking up an injury.

Two easy-ish home games should produce clean sheets especially given how solid Spurs are at the back this season. Adebayor is my vice-captain here as he should do something but I think Friedel is more likely to pick up at least 1 clean sheet and maybe even pull off a few saves to give a 20+ total.

99% definitely? ;) I wouldn't go for a goalie to be honest.. one goal against and you'll feel miserable

Currently have it on Bale with VDV (vc), may switch that around, also have Adebayor but unlikely to captain him.

Nah, he'll get injured in the 1st game & miss the 2nd. 1 point.

Against 2 poor sides though. There couldn't be a better opportunity. It could turn out to be a very smart move as I can see both teams going there to get a draw anyway. I'll bump this thread when it turns out he gets me a very lucrative return. He is the safest option IMO.

What are the chances of Ade playing 60 mins+ of both games?

He's played all but nine minutes of Spurs games so far this season so I think pretty good.

I just don't see it as adventurous for my liking. If it's of any comfort to you, I can imagine David Moyes would do the same if he had Friedel in his FPL team ...

I'm really swaying towards VDV, he has such a low ownership that a good couple of games could see you jump thousands of places.

Even if he only plays 60 mins in each game he is well capable of scoring a goal and assisting in each, he could easily end up with 2 goals, 2 assists and 6 bps, that's the sort of player he is, as captain that would be 52 points, that's massive and not unrealistic.

Bale is in good form but can be streaky as can Adebayor, getting the captaincy right is crucial.

I have all three {Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor} and all three are as risky as each other really. They could, and should, all do well, so one way to look at it is the hope you don't pick the lowest scoring of the three. The smaller the deficit though the less the disappointment.

I agree Bale is patchy, but like Van der Vaart and Adebayor, can score points at any time. And although Adebayor is the striker all three of them kind of switch positions. The extra point for goals and clean sheets might sway most people towards Bale, not to mention recent form and the fact Van der Vaart could get injured at any time.

That said, and having given it a lot of thought, I still feel Adebayor is the safer option at the moment. With Bale extremely close. Which means I'll probably captain the Dutchman differential.

Hope that helps...

I don't have VDV so am leaning towards Adebayor purely because he has lower ownership and I can't think of another way to split them

VDV's hamstrings are a major concern but at crucial times in a season you have to go for a differential and this feels like one of those moments.

Low ownership, 2 games, nice break in between, it could be a season changer.

Edit. I also have Bale and Adebayor, just want to get the most out of the double with regards to my league.

Cons, I only get half the points my opponents may get as I'm guessing they will captain Bale or Adebayor.

Pros. So far I'm the only one with VDV, he could turn my league on its head.

been thinking the same, currently have it on Bale with VDV vice but likely to switch, my concern had been how much time he would play, but then he has an edge taking pens, and most in my league have either Ade or Bale who'll they'll likely captain this week, so captaining VDV could be big differential.

Not sure why many here seem to be putting Ade ahead of Bale and VDV, I personally see him doing better in higher scoring fixtures where he can mop up late when VDV/Bale are subbed. Whilst I expect Tottenham to win both games I'm not expecting 3 or 4 goals per game.

I think it was 2 seasons ago when Fulham had two good fixtures in a double gameweek. Fulham had been solid at the back, so the sensible captain choice was thought to be Schwarzer. They conceded one goal in each game.

Switching from Bale to VDV, poll won't allow me to change.
