The first jumps in the long jump have been completed and clearly a lot of people have not got their timing right as of yet, as seen by the very large number of no-jumps in the round - 14.

FlaminGalah and Albumies are off the mark and leading the way in the first round so can perhaps take more chances with their remaining jump. The event continues with the second round this GW so let's hope everyone's timing is a bit more settled.

Full details are as always below.

Forgive me tardy question... so the Long Jump event will take three (game-)weeks, one for each jump attempt?

erm, I represent Puffin Island, not Puffin Ireland !

Puffin Island's only remote connection with Ireland is that it's situated in the Irish Sea.

This may be sufficient justification for the Irish to claim it as their own,but remember what happened to the Argies when they tried a similar stunt in respect of the Falkland Islands. ( with apologies to all Argentinian Fiso Olympians)

For those who prematurely got rid of Milner (NOT me :D ) and got annoyed for losing out on his 11 points haul yesterday, got a minor consolation prize in not fouling up this weeks long jump.
  :) :?

After the second round of the long jump I think it's pretty fair to say the bloke with the little red foul jump flag has been the busiest man in the stadium.

There were only 11 completed attempts in GW12 and all of those happened to measure 6.96m, placing that group in joint 3rd place in the event.

There are still 10 athletes yet to complete a measured distance so they really have the pressure on the 3rd round of the event.

The full details are, as always, below.

Where are the rules for this? Ive no idea what constitutes a jump of 6.96 or a foul

The 3rd and final round of the long jump event saw some great extremes.

kizkiz, nigel1305, Mintman, Karrde, amg and err....Mystery  all leapt out of the pit with jumps of 7.20m in the final round to share first place in the 2nd event of the FISOlympiad Decathlon. The pressure had particularly been on amg who had foul jumped his first two tries.

Sunderland Fan had also leapt a similar distance but the red flag was shown to her (due to Zayatte or Cole OGs I suspect) - she at least did end up in 9th for the event.

At the other end of the table, Le Red, Beerfuelledman, mrdrj, bagpuss and Spinynorman all have failed to register a valid jump in their three attempts so nul points for them and a lot of catching up to do in the remaining 8 events. Spiny had been another man out over the 7 metre line this week, so can consider himself especially unlucky.

The streets of Greenland were buzzing with excitement this morning with the news that Karrde has gone to the top of the overall table leading nigel1305 by 13 points, with Mintman a short distance further back. 100m dash winner Moonlightdribbler falls to 11th overall.

The normal full results service is available below and details of the next event, the shot put, will be in a separate thread shortly.
