The first round of the discus was completed this week. But first a quick reminder of the rules

Discus
Event 7: GW24, 25, 26

Points: Total points for MIDs converted to a distance
(Whole Squad included, 5xMID, - Captain's points NOT doubled)
Foul: Foul throw if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (m) = 37 + (0.34 x FactoredPoints)

I'm happy to say this event was not as affected by foul throws as some of the other multi-effort events, as everyone has managed to get in a valid throw.

It is an English 1-2 so far as Mintman's 46.89m effort led the way well clear of Spencer4 and RamR who were the only others over 45m.

Still lots of time for things to change though over the next couple of weeks. Full results are below.

The second round of the discuss has now been completed and it really is all to play for in the final part of the event. nigel1305 shot into contention with the best throw of round 2 - his effort of 46.00 put him into second place. Moonlightdribbler and disgby also scored well with 44m throws.

Hi Mystery, just been looking at the scores for this and think my first round distance may be wrong. I just worked it out using the formula and I got it to be a distance of 47.88m. Could you please check this please and amend if necessary. Many Thanks

Just double checked my clipboard and it looks ok to me.

Factored points are qualifying points * (50/GW Average)

...so score of Midfielders (16) * (50/51)

all in all this makes
37 + (0.34 *(16*(50/51)) = 42.33 (to 2dp)

...simples

However it probably is right as I was working it out without the gameweek avg thing in the equasion!!

edit Just gone back and worked it out used the correct formula, and it is correct!! Ok move along nothing to see here.

No Mystery yet so here are the results of the 3rd week of the Discus.







A great many athletes posted their best distance yet but a few only managed a foul thanks to Saha (missed penalty), Collins (own goal) and sendings off for Nani and Faye.

bagpuss tops the table with a throw of 49.26m - well done bagpuss.


Overall tables also updated and after 6 events SunderlandFan stills holds a lead over Nigel1305.
