It seems ITV's new flagship morning TV programme is not going down to well. The women at work reckon that Chilesy is "too miserable" and obviously don't appreciate his laconic, laid back delivery. They are also moaning that the set is too "purple and professional and not as cosy as before". These views seem to be echoed on Yahoo's website. I've not seen it as I usually have the Beeb's show on in the background but it seems like ITV have scored a bit of an own goal. What does everyone else think ??

Funnily enough, the two new presenters on The One Show (Chris Evans apart) are starting to develop a bit of a rapport. Alex Jones doesn't half look like Christine Bleakley though (not such a bad thing  )

Daybreak is a bit bizarre, they seem to sit very close to each other and then accentuate that by leaning in towards each other - it's almost like she's trying to sit on his lap  (again  ). Also she is always leaning forwards, he is always as you'd expect leaning backwards. It seems neither of them can sit up straight - No idea why that bothers me, but it does

Also thought that after just a few days of getting up at 4am, Bleakley was looking decidedly rough this morning (not that I'd mind, of course). Mind you my Mrs has the Belfast accent, so I'm halfway there already :D (just have to close my eyes  )

I think AC's problem is that a year or so ago, someone advised him to speak much more quietly and slowly - presumably to create the cool, knowledgeable, laid back kind of style of someone with gravitas like Desmond Lyneham, in the hope that people would take him more seriously as a frontman and interviewer of substance. Unfortunately I think it has been a blunder, and ruined his appeal. I used to like him when he was more outgoing and enthusiastic, and he held his own even though sometimes a bit out of his depth (professionals sometimes took the piss out of him). But now he comes over as still rather clueless, but with the additional aura of a deep depressive on valium.

Alex Jones is far, far better looking than Bleakley IMHO. Never quite got the Bleakley thing. Alex and Jason make a good combo. For Breakfast TV, I have always preferred the more serious approach from the Beeb, and Daybreak hasn't changed my opinion.

Don't like the divine Ms Verasamy? A good catch from Sky, it is a very odd set tbh.

I have a feeling that she leans forward to read the auto-cue

She is shockingly like the One Show replacement, very odd.

Susannah Reid has her own show on BBC1 on Sunday mornings

It's bloody awful which suits me as Mrs Tree has now succumbed to the Beed in the morning

It's all a bit smug and try hard. I've always quite liked Chiles though, maybe because he's from West Mids.

That said I hated GMTV for all its low brow, patronising drivel and BBC breakfast is just so dull

Big Breakfast in it's hey day was where it was at
