Can't we just get pollen of a apple tree and mix it with banana tree so we can get apple taste inside a skin of banana. That way its easier to peel skin off and get to fruit.
We could create better tastes. Like making bananas taste like strawberries. Has anyone tried cross pollination?

Certainly sounds interesting. But I would be very surprised if no one has ever experimented with it before?
